Could the LPGA and The Golf Channel be parting ways?

Ever since Annika and Lorena left, the LPGA has been pretty boring for the most part. It used to be so great when Annika, Karie Webb, Se Ri we dominating. They need a face to represent the LPGA and they are in dire need of a charismatic superstar. Until they get that, I just don't see a bright future for this tour. How many events are they having on the US mainland? Not many. In the not to distant future the LPGA will have half its events in Asia. They will have no choice in the matter and will be the only way it will survive.

Where would the LPGA go. ESPN doesn't want them and they are losing event sponsors faster than they can replace them. Moving toward 1/2 the tournaments out of the U.S.. May as well move the tour to Korea---they have the money and the better players anyway. That way the U.S. duds would have to learn Korean (like that will happen). When Lorena and Annika retired that pretty much canned the tour. Michelle has never taken over the tour like everyone hoped. When she finishes college will be the true test but I don't hold much hope she will ever dominate. She flat can't putt. So they are relegated to evening or later coverage by the golf channel. The bad part is they don't have Judy Rankin on anymore and appear to have replaced her with goofy Helen Alfredson (YIKES)...

Has anyone noticed that the cameras used for the LPGA broadcast give a lousy picture? I have compared the pictures of PGA and LPGA and the LPGA broadcast is definitely inferior.

[/quote]We all know......and thr GolfChannel does too.......that things will be like this until the GC and the LPGA gets a "Face.".......and we all know that face is Michelle Wie........Until she starts winning........and that should be pretty soon.......OR it could take as long as next March..........when she graduates from Stanford........THEN the LPGA will TAKE OFF.........and the GC will have a product they can market properly........IT WILL happen.........just give it a little time........

Talk is the LPGA needs to have a finish on a day other than Sunday. Makes sense to me. If people could just see a few finishing rounds live, maybe they'd become fans. But when they are competing on Sundays with the PGA, Sr. PGA, Euro's, and the Nationwide Tour, guess who is going to lose. Even though I personally prefer the gals and the seniors myself. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Lets see - lots of the LPGA events arent even played on US soil (different time zones) - the rest you probably can count with your two hands - whats their current playing schedule - like one tournament every 3 weeks?

Got news for you hoss, in order to add more tournaments and sponsors, you first need a commitment for television coverage. You start with the outlet and work backwards.
