Sean Foley has been known to teach a Stacked type swing, but has never once admitted to stack and tilt...we shall see how long this lasts

Great. He didn't buy your DVD's and pay for your S&T classes. He's not stacked.


I'm all for new methods and developing good swing theories. I get tired of all these threads popping up trying to prove that S&T is good because some pro is freeze-framed in a position that proves he's secretly using S&T. Develop the method and justify it with positive reviews and successful results. Stop clinging onto every whiff of exposure as if it's the ur-swing and everything good that comes in golf is derivative of this system.

i dont even get what your talking about so I cant really comment on it. I know what Foley teaches and its everything Ive been taught, hes got some good drills too. I didnt need to see Tigers swing and photo to know what Tiger was going to be doing and look like.

You'd have to be dumb and blind to not know whats going on in these pictures and videos of his swing now, hahha

To be fair, those pics do literally look like promo shots from the S&T commercials. Any controversy about this just helps to promote them anyways, so everybody wins!

If Tiger didn't have it in him to choose a new non-method teacher, then he should have swallowed his pride and gone back to Butch.
I just can't believe that Tiger is choosing to swing like a robot. He has crushed the competition for a decade, and now, he decides that he wants to change his swing to look like the guys he's been crushing. WTF????

He knew how to hit the ball perfectly from the day he first swung a club. He would have dominated in golf without any teachers, just like Hogan, Trevino, and Ballesteros.

I agree Tiger would have won all kinds of Tourneys regardless of having a big name coach,BUT I think this is the best Tiger's swing has ever looked! better than 2000. and Im not a tiger fan!

To be fair, he was crushing them from '05 to '09 primarily because of his scrambling and putting ability. Guarantee you he would rather play from the fairway like Mahan instead of the trees.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks like he's trying to keep is arms very tight to his body throughout, with a very low and around finish, like he's short-arming it. But it doesn't really matter, Tiger's technique has never been the reason for his success. It's funny that the SnT proponents will try to latch on to anyone as proof for their swing panacea.

S&T is just a marketing thing - the truth is that all good swings feature a lot of what they "teach" in S&T anyway - those guys are just putting a name to it and taking it a bit further than any good player already knows to do. I'll probably get flamed for this, but look at some old pics of Hogan - tell me he's not on his left foot at the top...

Thought I left this at thesandtrap forum, nothing to boast about really, the only time his swing was tested it fell apart (sherwood on sunday), and watching now its coming apart, but his swing was never the reason for his success

Seems like he is "wiping" his driver (few times I've seen him miss it right). Maybe cause he's trying to play a cut. I still see a high right shoulder at impact (too level).....and right it goes...just my quick view. if he starts hitting fairwaiys regularly......it'll be light's out for the rest of the field...IMO...

Thing is, it's not just about hitting fairways. His putting is still a bit shaky, and his bunker play is atrocious. I still need to see him under pressure to see how his game holds up.

Think he's doing a pretty good job of showing how a major swing change can lead to day to day inconsistencies. Although his fairways yesterday were under 40%, he had a consistent miss to the right and was rarely in trouble. Today...yikes. When he's missing fairways with his 3 wood you know he's just not comfortable with his new swing.

Peter Kostis has commented a few times that they're getting 35 to 50 yards of roll because of the firmness of the fairways. The greens look to be in amazing shape!

Not 100% sure if you're tongue in cheek here so, respectfully, SnT IS perfect for bunker play. Weight significantly shifted on the forward foot...not a lot of lower body movement. Not sure what TW was doing in the bunkers today...he looked as bad as I do sometimes.

Did anyone notice how many references Faldo made to Tiger being "stacked"? He continually talked about how he was working on keeping his weight left, staying centered, etc. Hmmm....


On a side note, whether Tiger is "stacked" or not, he'll NEVER give ANYONE or ANYTHING credit but himself. This, we all know.

Im sorry but wasnt leaning away from the target on the way down a fundamental principle of S&T when it first came out? Seems they abandoned that now, Im all for staying centred during the backswing, but S&T strikes me as gimmicky, has it ever won on tour?
