Fooled into thinking it was a fubuki tour from Mitsubishi not Callaway

What to do
Ok, so I put a WTB ad out for a Fubuki Tour 63 stiff shaft, I got a response from a guy telling me he had one for sale. I asked if it was a taylormade one or callaway and he told me it was straight from Mitsubishi, which is the only one I was looking for. After I bought it he told me it was .350 tip, so I called Mitsubishi shafts today and asked them if they sold any Fubuki tour 63 shafts with a .350" tip. They told me the only ones with that tip size were the I-mix Callaway ones and only Callaway sells them. Mitsubishi also told me the MDT technology is slightly different between the two so they arent exactly the same.

My question is, what should I do about this situation. I thought I was buying the straight aftermarket Fubuki tour, not the callaway IMIX one. He made it clear to me that it was straight from Mitsubishi. I can get the IMIX ones for like 35 bucks cheaper than what I paid this guy and plus I didnt want the Callaway one.

what should I do guys?

Pretty simple I think. If he didn't inform you about that before you guys made the deal then he should make it right. I'm not sure why he wouldn't have informed you about the tip size right away, seems to be pretty important information. In my experience, I tend to assume it's 335 unless otherwise specified. I have been getting in the habit of asking though to avoid situations like this. But again. If he didn't tell you till after the sale, then you have every right to insist on getting your money back, even shipping costs I would say. Good luck.

yea, I was just assuming it was .335. I called Callaway as well and they have slightly different specs from the real deal straight from Mitsubishi ones with the the .335 tip. Not to please about this. I plan on having him refund me the money and Il ship it back. Il update you guys on what happens

First, sorry that this has happened to you.

I remember PM'ing with you about a Fubuki. I had the 73gm and you were looking for a 63gm.

My two (2) cents on the scenario is the following:

1. Try to resolve it with the Seller via PM first. If he/she will refund your money then all is well. (Save all PMs, emails, and documentation relevant to the transaction)

2. If the Seller refuses to refund your money or make you whole, leave negative feedback for the Seller

3. If you still are unable to resolve the matter, file a dispute claim with PayPal to see if you can get your money back since you were sold goods that were misrepresented

4. If all else fails engage a WRX moderator to assist with helping you resolve the issue

I hope this helps.

J

Have you contact the seller yet? If so what has he told you ?

I sent him a PM this afternoon explaining everything and that I wanted a refund and will send the shaft back right away. Told him I would file a paypal claim and make his name known on the forum if he didnt respond accordingly. He shouldnt of told me he got it directly from Mitsubishi since its impossible to with a .350 tip. So he basically lied to me. He probably got it directly from Callaway lol.

Gonna play devil's advocate here. As knowledgeable as most are on here, there are still some who honestly don't know there is a difference. Give the guy an opportunity to reply and resolve the situation before calling him out. Maybe it was an honest mistake.

Ok since this tread is about me i guess i should respond to it... since there is always another side to every story and i feel i should be able to tell mine.... First off... i have already stated via PM that i will give a full refund as soon as i get the shaft back.... Second.. The shaft came from Callaway (factory installed) in a brand new FT Tour (NOT AN i-mix SHAFT)... I made an error when i said it came from direct from Mitsubishi. ( i forgot that it was my fubuki alpha that came from Mitsu)... Also here is the link to the buy sell ad i had for my FT Tour with this shaft in it from Callaway. So bottom line... i do not like anyone acting like i lied to them or tried to fool them, in any way.... im not sure how else to so it but THIS IS NOT AN I-MIX SHAFT !!!!!!!! does it have a .350 tip ?? yes.. but it was never an i-mix shaft...

Thank you.....

The point is, the shaft was from Callaway, not Mitsubishi. So regardless of whether your intention was to lie or fool, you did. The shaft was sold under false pretenses.

Its fine turbosnake. You didnt have to respond and tell it was you, I wasnt going to give out your username unless you denied me a refund or something. I made this thread before I heard anything from you or that you would give me a full refund. Just wanted some advice on what to do about this situation since alot of shady stuff could happen. You seem to be a stand up guy since you are giving me a refund and I appreciate that. Just make sure you are more clear when you sell something else on the site.

thanks to everyone who responded as well.

btw- I did send you messages via sandtrap asking if it came from a taylormade club or callaway, You might of missed those messages since I sent mulitple ones before you responded but later you told me it was straight from Mitsubishi. You just said you got it mixed up with your other Alpha shaft, which is fine. It also doesnt matter if it has the imix tip on it or whatever, Callaway is the only place that sells .350 tip Fubuki tour shafts and thats what they put in your ft tour. They sell for alot cheaper than the .335 tip ones. Just make sure you are clear next time because the only way I found out it was not from Mitsubishi is by calling them.

I think there's waaaay to many and too much PM deals done on here 1st of all. In sales listings it's the hardest way to keep track of who wants what 1st on sellers. If folks had to post in the add then everybody would know where they stood. To those I PMed this past 2 weeks about deals, it's because I was under punishment for posting a thread about another offer accepted and then the offerer did not follow through and using PG-13 edited language in my title.

2nd, he sent seller the money without shaft in hand in the 1st place so why should he have to send you the shaft back before refund??? He trusted you and was burned, maybe unintentionally, but the only one who knows for sure is the seller. So he has reasonable doubt and shouldn't have to send the shaft back before refund. The seller's thinking is askew.

I just don't see how posting deals in the thread would ever work for BST. What if someone has a shaft for sale for $100 and I make the first offer of $85? The seller is willing to accept that offer but before he can respond to me (the first buyer) someone else comes in behind and offers $95. Then you have a bidding war for every item on BST. PM gives each seller an opportunity to communicate privately with each buyer. I always reply in the thread that I sent a PM about XXXX item.

I dont think it matters who is first in line, since the seller gets to pick whomever he wants, regardless of how quickly you responded.
