trying to map it out

@2playthetips got tweeted to go check out the Scarlett Course at Ohio St. this year. Does anyone else know of some good spots if we made this in to a mini trip?

seems like Longaberger is also a must play in the area.

Longaberger and Eaglesticks are excellent choices, not far from Columbus. I have played both numerous times, and they are 2 of my favorite.

You must play Cook's Creek. Absolutely awesome course. About 30 miles outside C-Bus.

As far as the Scarlet Course, it's amazing but I don't know how you're going to get out there unless you know a current student, a member, or a member of the Alumni society. If you don't have a connection to one of those, they won't let you play. They are strict.

I would skip Eaglesticks......but definitely go to Longaberger. Longaberger is as good as it gets in the state of Ohio for public courses.

Also, I would probably go to East golf club as well.

I enjoyed Cook's Creek, but I haven't played it in 2 years. I have heard that the conditioning over the last season or two has really gone south.

I always loved Eaglesticks, the covered bridges, the elevation changes, and it is really reasonable. Can play it for about $40 during the week. I like Cooks Creek, but like it was said above, the conditioning has gone down. Longaberger is the best, and customer service is second to none.

I've played Scarlet several dozen times. I went to High School in Upper Arlington and we played it constantly along with Grey. Scarlet is a really good course since the upgrades a few years back but the course is kinda bland. The service level is kinda low also, you won't have a country club atomsphere to it. Scarlet is kinda like a upscale public course.

Since your on site you might as well play OSU-Grey also. I like a few holes from grey better than so of the scarlet holes.

Overall its a great 36 holes of golf on site. The range and putting areas are huge and the staff is nice. Have fun and if you need a 3rd or 4th person please let me know.

BTW great review for Forest Dunes and Arcadia Bluffs up in Michigan.

Love the feedback on the Michigan courses. Glad you enjoyed them. We will definitely look in to playing all 36 at the Scarlet and Grey. We're always looking for playing partners so we will let you know!

As others have said - you'll be hard-pressed to get on Scarlet (or Gray) unless you know someone affiliated with Ohio State. But if you do, definitely play Scarlet. Above and beyond this, I'd recommend these courses in the Central Ohio region:
