Golf shops in Northern MI?

Heading up to the Soo on a business trip soon. Curious if there's any decent golf stores close to I-75, north of, say, mile marker 162 (US-10)? Trying to break up the drive a bit. I had thought there was something in Gaylord, but could be my memory is fading.

There's Golf USA on Old 27, which may be what you're thinking of. I've never been, so I have no idea if it's any good.

Anything north of midland (162, us -10) is tough. There is a golf USA on old 27, like Tiger Jr said, by the Kmart. In downtown gaylord there used to be, possibly still is, Dan Websters Golf and Ski.

Other than that, ?????.

If your going past exit 122, right outside the Flint area, there is King Par Superstore, which is very Carls esque.

The only decent golf store in Northern Michigan I have been to is in Traverse City - which is obviously not close to I75

The Golf USA shop in Gaylord is worth a visit. Adam and his dad do a great job, knowledgeable, friendly, fair pricing, take trade-ins. The store is small compared to the MOG's and Carl's of the world, but it is jam packed. Walking around without bumping into something can be a challenge.

You will be talking to the owners, no salespeople.

CPP, stop there. They usually have a large inventory of used equipment. Most of it stuck in great big barrells. Good chance you might find a hidden gem.

Well, I drove past GolfUSA today around 5:45, and the lights were off. Probably aren't getting much business this time of year. I'll be back through in a few months, so I'll check it out. Thanks for the tips.

If you are serious about purchasing a particular item I would email Adam @ GolfUSA and see what he can do for you. I am from Grand Rapids and I recently purchased brand new TM Burner 2.0s and a Cleveland wedge from him via email. I was given his contact info from a family member. He is very great to work with and very knowledgeable. Not to mention he gave me a GREAT deal on my set, even though he didn't know who I was. He shipped them to me straight from TM, had them in hand within 6 days. I didn't even pay him until I received the clubs and liked what I got. You can get his email from their website.

Thanks. I'm never really in the market for anything particular. I just like to look at stuff, and if something catches my eye, I might bite. I'm usually really interested in the used bins or racks, because you can sometimes find some gems. Drives my wife nuts...
