thanks guys for putting more pictures up!

and orange.... WOW - those white ferrules are awesome.

how many non CALLAWAY guys are liking or have at least hit these irons? IMO if you are brand loyal, chances are you only switch out your sticks when the "new" line comes out. pulling people away from their loyalty is where you start picking up market share. this is one of the best years for irons period. CALLAWAY, TMAG, NIKE and others are stepping up to the plate and listening to the consumer more than ever!

I have a bunch of pals who can get it around a golf course and have trophies to prove it.. am surprised at how many of them are now playing Cally forged irons.. thanks for the great review.. most have switched from Taylor.
there is something to the playability and shot making ability of these irons. i could see how they would made the move from TMAG - it may be a different story now that they actually have a forged iron. i have a set of the MB's and WOW! i have some difficult decisions in front of me... POINT BLANK the razrs will need to have PX 6.5's in them to get the full benefit. i made a huge discovery a month ago on TRACKMAN that changes everything with an iron shaft.

I just saw this and am amazed how similar it was to mine, great job and I am sure your thumbs need a rest if you wrote that up on an Iphone
i'm no teenage girl either - so it took a lot of time in the airport and on the plane on airplane mode thumbing my way through it. if CALLAWAY were to send me a RAZR HAWK TOUR i would type upside down with my pinkies.

i am going to check your comments again, but if i recall you are from AZ... what is the turf interaction like from dry fairways. RAIN SOAKED ONLY HERE!

It is really good cuts right through the turf without the harsh almost jarring feedback I would get with the adams. I tend to take a good sized divot and the grind seems to be prefect for me

Initial impressions of the RAZR irons are good, considering I only have the 4-8 irons to hit.

Really much more solid and softer feeling than my Titleist irons and they are both supposed to be Endo forged...

I LOVE the sole design, more after a few more range sessions and the arrival of the short irons.

But so far...REAL good!

i hit mine a little bit last night on TRACKMAN vs. my 2011 mb's - and for me to game these i will need to switch out the shafts from dg x100s to px 6.5. i hit my 4 iron 216 with the 2011 mb's and 195 with the razrs. PURELY shaft related. spun the dg x100 like a top. the irons look good, feel good, have a great sole grind - everything you could want, JUST THE WRONG SHAFTS FOR ME!

I would definietely put myself in the "Brand Neutral" department, as I playanything that goes down the pipe, feels good, looks good. I have to say.....Callaway is impressing me this year (about to buy an RH Tour driver). I'm looking closely at these irons, but my MP68s will be tough to kick out of the bag.

I hit these clubs at Golf Galaxy and I like the feel, but the topline (chunky and square) could be an issue......

I'm planning to fiddle with my 68s a bit more before I commit to a new set of irons, but these are a contender I would say.

Swanry......one comment about your last post (DGX vs PX 6.5)..... When I was in myrtle beach a few weeks ago, I was testing an MP53 6 iron head with the KBS tours in X and then swapped in the PX 6.0 shaft (both standard length). I was getting about 4mph more ball speed with the PX shaft. I was getting like 10 more yeards average.

Has anyone else had this experience?

I currently play my MP68s with KBS stiff and love them, but if I go to a players cavity, I would plan to try the PXs.

NOTE: I always felt the PXs were too harsh, but perhaps I was trying a flex too much (6.5). as the Callys come stock in PX, it is VERY tempting to pick up a set of these (oh, and the Endo forging doesn't hurt).

A friend of mine who has the swing speed and tempo to play 6.5 or higher in px had a similar experience said they felt harsh and didn't go nearly as far so he sticks with the 6.0 and kills the ball with them

I went through a rather intense Razr X Tour fitting a couple of weeks ago (I know this thread is about the Razr Forged irons so perhaps my findings aren't relevant, if that's the case, sorry) and found almost the exact opposite of what you found. I hit 15 balls with the Tour 6 iron, kicked out the worst two and here were the results I found with the PX 6.0 and the KBS X:

PX:

ball speed - 123mph
clubhead - 90 mph
launch angle - 25*
backspin/sidespin - 5400/-2.2
carry distance - 178 yards
shot height - 45'

KBS X:

ball speed - 125mph
clubhead - 92 mph
launch angle - 24*
backspin/sidespin - 4100/-0.8
carry distance - 186 yards
shot height - 42'

I prefer the feel of the KBS' over the PX's, but I much prefered the #'s I got from KBS'. I guess this just goes to show how different we all are as golfers.

Nice post tcalloway1, its always nice to see actual knowledge dropped with some good hard facts around this place. But Im not sure your post is relevant considering this is about the Razr Forged and the thick top lines they have. But I still enjoy facts over the usual BS I find.
Honestly the top lines are really not that big of a deal. You get over it pretty quick after you hit these. I'm actually one of the few that probably prefers a slightly thicker topline.

I.

I was playing Nike irons and Taylormade before these and I'm in love. I'll post a longer review later but these things are freaking deadly on the course. I was hitting shots pin high that I had no confidence in before. And they're absolutely gorgeous in the bag.

Leading edge grind AND a decent amount of bounce...need to look into these in addition to testing the Prototypes...

Not that it would necessary change the outcome...as I agree our swings are as different as we are!...but wouldn't an PX 6.5 match up better with the KBS X (I thought that was a 6.5 or greater) which could vary the spin I think... :friends:
