Wedgeworks bounce options? Wedge Guru needed!

Grinds, bounce, etc...
So I was going to order some Scratch wedges, but the lack of customer service, and the long delivery times have sent me elsewhere.

I currently use 51* AP2 wedge KBS Tour X 2* flat, 54* 8* bounce vokey cc 2* flat, and 58* 4* bounce vokey cc 2* flat.

The problem I am having is understanding the bounce system of the TVD wedges, can someone more accurately explain this please?

I am used to using a smaller amount of bounce, and noticed the TVD offerings have more bounce than I am looking for, there is a bunch of talk about how the grind will allow better turf interaction than my stock cc vokeys, but I would like to know how.

I know there are some smart fellas out there that understand this stuff better than I do. I am a scratch player, but not too much of a golf science major...

Just looking for the best wedge me...

Really only between (Fourteen, Vokey TVD, Scratch) I am a driver digger, large divots with wedges, solid ball stiker.

HEEEEEEELLLLP me spend some serious $$ next week.. lol

I'll chime in here with your answer first. You can only make sense of any given bounce angle if you also factor in sole width. A lower bounce with wider sole will play similar to a higher bounce with narrower sole. That is the "pitch" of the grind you mention. Ping introduced a similar variation back in the 1980s, and it has been done over and again since. It's still going to give you a relatively specialized sole design, most adept at one or two kinds of turf/lie conditions.

Since you asked for help "spending your money", might I suggest our EIDOLON V-SOLE wedges? Our patented V-SOLE can handle any kind of lie equally well, and we do more with custom work than any other wedge brand out there. And I'll put our customer service up against anyone else's, too. Just suggesting . . . .

The TVD sole is simply a narrower sole with a higher bounce. You must understand that bounce and sole width are inseparable -- the wider the sole, the higher the effect of the bounce angle. In other words, a narrow sole with a higher bounce could perform the same as a wider sole with a lower bounce. The TVD concept was first introduced by Ping in the 1980s, and by several other since. It still presents a rather specialized sole, as do all conventional wedges, better for some lies than others.

Since you are seeking help to "spend some serious $$ next week", might I suggest our EIDOLON V-SOLE wedges? Our patented V-SOLE is equally at home from any lie you may encounter -- hardpan to rough, bunker to fairway. No one else has it, and we guarantee you'll love it -- thousands of golfers already have discovered that the best wedges in golf are being built in Texas.

I don't have time to go through an entire paragraph on the matter. But my favorite part of the the TVD grind is the leading edge, it sits dead flush with the ground. It gives you the ability to open and close the same from address with absolutely no problems. The bounce is only high in certain playing conditions. I have 56 and 60 both bent a degree strong as well as a regular 52 CC Vokey bent to 51.

I'd rather talk to someone and be patient, but that's me. Grinds help... for instance check out Scratch's EGG and TNC - both would fit you. If you're a driver / digger go with over 10*, or "effective +". Scratch provides considerable fitting and grind info that's easily accessible, and you can reach someone to talk to, presuming your willing to spend a few cents by calling.

Vokey on the other hand hasn't the time for you or me; yet charges more then average, while over simplifying bounce -saying if you're a non-professional you need bounce. That's true, but not for a great many of us that know our game and have wedge skill. I open and close the face to enhance bounce, and play 53* with effective 10* of bounce, and low 5* bounce 59; both custom to my specs.

PS -most of the Vokey users on tour have wedges setup with grinds by Vokey for varying conditions. We amateurs either don't want to spend what it takes to have a number of wedges for this or that, or don't have the resources. Either way, it's better to get some personal attention, pay a bit more and be patient vs.buy what's offered.

I actually JUST got the TVD 54M and 60M CC w/ DG Spinners. Order two sets, in order to have backups in case any break/dent...anything.

Kind of funny, my 60* broke today. The DG Spinner shafts have an EXTREME weak point in the shaft...the bottom of the hourglass shape in the "spinner" section. I was in the front edge of a deep divot, and had to go at it pretty hard. The shaft kinked at the bottom of the hourglass section, and then broke when trying to straighten the shaft back out! Glad I bought the backup.

All I have to say is:
These are the best wedges I have ever played.

Wet...great. Dry...great. Hardpan...whats that? Bunkers...what shot sir? Flops, bumps...anything.

I couldn't be happier with them. I'm in between a tweener and a digger/driver.
