you are correct sir. I believe he's just talking questions because he's there. I don't think he "called a press conference," that's just TGC trying to get a buzz for viewership. I see this being a huge non event.
Why in the world people get this excited about someone not even in the top ten in the world, or even the highest ranked American golfer is beyond me.

Because he is the former world no. 1, has the second most majors in history and changed the way golf is played and due to his fall from the heavens and current injury woes people are eager to see what his next move will be because after Thanksgiving 2009 anything seems possible. Maybe that's why, I could of course be wrong though.

This feels a little different than the typical...I'll miss this tourney, but will be back for the US Open. That's something you can state in a press release or phone interview. Live interview makes me think it's something significant. Guess we'll see!

He wasn't injured this time last year, so at the minimum he'll (most likely) discuss his upcoming schedule and what he foresees his health being at the next major.

I'm sure there's more than one person who's curious about that.

I just received a twitter message from Tiger and he congratulated 4 EW Scholar graduates. Perhaps he's going to say something about his foundation in addition to updating his status for how his knee is healing.
