New Irons for 13 cap

Upgrade badly needed

Here is my story, I have been playing since I was a young kid, but never more than 10 times a year. This year I got hooked and I am playing 3-5 times a week. My handicap has dropped from around a 20 to currently a 12.5 and still falling.

I am currently playing a set of off the rack 3-PW TM RAC OS, with some stock 95 gram light-weight regular flex shaft I got like 7 or 8 years ago for my first full length set. A cobra speed LD-F 10.5 with a stiff stock shaft. I am really happy with the driver, I know you guys will say I could get better with a shaft upgrade, but I'm not going to fix what isn't broke.

I also have an odyssey putter I am really happy with, but I don't have any hybrids or wedges, so I am currently playing with only 10 clubs.

Now that I am playing a lot and have improved a lot this year I have decided it is time for some serious equipment upgrades. I got 12 open slots everything other then driver and putter. I plan on hitting a lot of clubs and getting fit once a decide what to get fit for. There is a KZG fitter near me so I am going to try those irons for sure, I am also going to hit some ap2's what are recommendations for other clubs to try? Irons sets? Hybrids? fairways? Wedges?

Edit: I am lefty so keep that in mind when you make reccomendations, no jpx pros for me which I really wanted to try :(

mizuno mx-200's great forged feel, long and very forgiving.can be had for a great price since they are now discontinued.

I am currently a 12 and I am playing Nike VR splits. You can still get them new from some stores and if you are a guy that likes playing the latest and greatest, you could try the new Pro Combos. For the record, I played Mizuno MP-32s last season, but I am far more consistent with these. I tend to dig and the MP-32s dug too much. IIRC they have them in lefty! Forged and forgiving enough, yet I can work the ball if I have to.

Also you can't go wrong with the usual recommendations here; MP-53s, AP2s, Adams CB2s, etc. dunno what is lefty or not, sorry!

I find that the wedges are all about what feels and looks good, can't go wrong with the major brands. I have both Vokeys and Mizuno MP T10s, the latter currently in my bag. I tried a number of hybrids, I have a Cobra Baffler Rail 17* which is very forgiving and long. 3 and 4 hybrids (4 iron going back in now that the weather is better) are Nickent, but that is what works for me. A bunch of nice hybrids out now, inc. the new Nike, TM (although I hate the white!) and Ping i15.

I really think it is a good thing to go where you can hit them and try a bunch in say 4, 7 and PW to get an idea of what you want. Good luck, I always find buying and trying is half the fun!
