What I have been told is that due to the 2 for 1 promotion they are running in all retail stores and pro shops the golf balls are on back order till 8/12. Everyone that received a 2nd email will be getting there golf balls very soon.

July 16, 2011 balls arrived. Played with them 2 hours later. After 6 holes put the Pro1Vx back into play.

I played them before but never gave them a fair shot because they were a ball I found. Played them yesterday and thought they were great. I played really badly, so I didnt give them a fair run in the check department, but driver distance was very good.

I got mine on friday but recently went crazy and bought 6 dozen... ( Craigslist Special) I was playing the Srixon Xv's before. First off, the feeling of this ball off the face of the putter is amazing. So smooth and fluid I was sold on that alone.. I did feel like i lost maybe a 1/2 a club in my irons and wedges with the ball but on saturday all of my clubs were stoppiing on a dime. I hit a 6 iron and actually had the ball check up about 6 inches. I didnt hit driver a lot this weekend (narrow courses) but felt like i lost maybe 10 yards there. Still I like this ball alot. Not as durable as the srixons but with the buy 2 get 1 deal they come out to like 26 a dozen or something close so you cant beat that!

Why do companies come out with a ball to compete with Titleist and bring it out at the same price or near the same price? They really need to flood the market and start selling them by the dozen for $26-$30. Most normal golfers do not walk into a store looking to buy 3 dozen balls. Most guys walk in and see the price of say the Penta's and then decide for just a few bucks more they can just get the ProV1. If they flood the market with the Penta's and guys actually find lost balls and play them, they could walk into a store and say I have played that ball and like it, and it is $15 cheaper than a ProV1. I know which dozen I would be getting!

Because the average Joe Sixpack that walks into the golf store knowing nothing about golf equipment would see the price that's $15 less than the ProV1's and think to themselves that it must be an inferior ball since the ProV1 costs a lot more. It's not the reality, but that would be the perception IMO.
Drop the price on the Penta and it would compete too much with their middle and low end balls and in effect would lose one of their market ranges... (high end, middle, and low end balls would now be middle and low end). Again...just MO...ymmv.
