2012 Titleist 712 Iron Pics and news!!!

Here are some great pics I took from the original thread where our member DTown3011 posted Pics for the first time. I thought the Pics needed their own new thread.

As you read this, several dozens of long, cardboard boxes, imprinted with the Titleist Script, sit in the back of a delivery truck en route to Arnonimink Golf Club just outside Philadelphia, host of next week's AT&T National PGA Tour event. They were all shipped from the same place, the Titleist Tour Deparment in Carlsbad, Calif.

On Monday morning, our Titleist Tour Reps at Aronimink will begin opening those boxes, each one marked with the name of a player in this week's AT&T field.

Inside the boxes: Prototype Titleist AP1, AP2, CB and MB irons (712 Series), which are being introduced on the PGA Tour this week for testing and seeding as part of our performance validation process.

(Please note: "712" is the series designation. Titleist has long used 700 numbers for irons, just as we just 900 numbers for metals. Accordingly, the "7" stands for irons, while the "12" stands for the new model year, 2012.)

Over the last few weeks, the Titleist Tour Department has been focused on building these iron sets to the custom specifications of our Titleist Brand Ambassadors.

This week at AT&T, members of the Titleist Leadership and R&D teams will begin working with our players to show, explain, fit and test the new irons, a process that will continue over the coming weeks across the worldwide professional tours. The feedback we receive during this validation process influences the design and specifications of the Titleist products available in golf shops around the world.

We will continue to provide behind-the-scenes information and product details here on the Team Titleist blog throughout the seeding and performance validation process.

Hi,
Just received the relevant e-mail from Titleist.
They (712MB) look great.
Looks like
- the finish is a little different (more raw / satin like finish) and
- the sole a little bit thicker?
- hopefully no more weight distribution towards the sole; hope no higher ball flight compared to 710MB
For sure another good one and winner as it looks like.

Wow those CBs sure look nice. I am not really a fan of the way the AP1's and AP2's look, but it won't matter at address.

The 712 CBs look pretty sweet as do the 712 MBs, I just don't think I quite have the swing for the MB.

Very disappointed in the 712 mb's

Time for new irons coming for me, the mp-60's are just browning up too much. After trying the 710's was getting ready to make the change this fall, but the CB and MB on the toe really aren't doing it for me. Oh well, maybe some acetone if they perform better.

I don't know what it is about the MBs, maybe the satin finish, but they look AMAZING! Hopefully they feel better than what I've heard about the last Titleist blades.

the ap1 and ap2 irons are.....wow I can't beliee I'm saying this... I want to say horrible? But I'm a titleist fan boy so I'm going to say they look sub-par, but maybe they will grow on me.. Not really impressed with their 712 lineup... I guess its hard to top perfection..which was the 710 line.
