2012 Titleist 712 Iron Pics and news!!!

I just tried the 712 AP2's today, i didn't find too much of a difference in terms of distance/flight/feel/ compared to my 710 AP2's, they do look a bit better at address and better turf interaction, but IMO not worth spending a grand for an upgrade

If your in the market for new iron's the 712 AP2's are really nice, but with the minor changes you'll likely be able to find a set of 710's for cheap

It's code word for, "I wish I could afford the new ones, but I'm going to talk myself out of it and claim there isn't enough there to make me switch."

Wish I had a better argument, but didn't get to hit mine before the snow. Hit a few with the new wedges and loved them, but for now I can just say the irons look great. :-)

A guy I joined up with today to play the last hole had a set of brand new 912 MBs in his bag (picked them up this afternoon and ran to the course lol). Boy they looked good. He let me tee off with his 4 iron and it was just about the finest shot I've ever hit. It certainly felt REALLY good. Obviously not much of a review from one shot but, man it was tingles up the spine good.

Take this for what is worth, I felt no difference in an indoor simulator with the old ap2 and new ap2. I don't play my 710's anymore, but unless the turf interaction is orgasmic, I would not change. Again, indoor on carpet.

Got mine early last week. 712 MB with c-taper stiff+, along with 3 sm4's with matching shafts. smaller heads then my mp-68's. Much easier to look down at for me, and the shafts without a doubt the best feeling shaft I have ever hit ( I used KBS tour stiff hard stepped in the mizuno's). The finish seems like it will hold up better then chrome.

Hit the ap2's for the first time today. They are impressive to have a forgiving club that looks small at address. Well done, Titleist

I hit the 712 AP2s and they are phenomenal. Slightly better shape than the previous models, but with the same great performance.

I am ordering my set tomorrow -

Does anyone have any info on if Titleist designed the MB/CB/AP2's to be blended. I can theoretically see there being a large distance gap between a CB 5 iron and an AP2 4 iron. I used to carry all CB's with an AP2 3 iron and that AP2 went considerably further than the CB 4 iron but it didn't matter because they weren't my scoring clubs. I was more concerned with confidence over a 3 from the deck.

I will be calling Titleist tomorrow pre-order but I'm considering a 3&4 AP2 with the CB's through the rest of the bag.

I hit mine today and they are great. I have both the 710's and 712's, the 712's are slight smaller on the top line and sole, setup nicer. The biggest difference was turf interaction, much smoother, I am very pleased with them.
