Probably came from the same factory in China or japan or Taiwan. Golf club companies, like bicycle companies, are marketing companies.....creating mystical stories abut their products, and all have very thin skins that bristle at any criticisms....witness how quickly the staff at KZG has responded here ......wait for it.......wait for it.....

Those ME 1s are an awful lot like a satin version of the SAQRA INB 2018s. What is the relation?

I'm sorry about the wait, but I don't check GolfWRX.com everyday. I've personally never heard of Saqra until I saw this post, but there is no question the milled lines on the sole look very similar (except for that hosel kink). I quickly checked on tourspec.com and it says: "The new INB-2018 Forged cavity back is forged from premium S25C steel in Himeji, Japan." The KZG M-Series is forged in China not Japan... I didn't see the full Saqra INB-2018 specs anywhere, so I cannot say for certain whether or not the specs are similar/different to any one of KZG's three new M-Series irons.
The Saqras are reverse offset too, unlike the KZGs. Besides being japanese made.

But if they still have the policy of only selling to clubmaking shops I guess that counts me out.
I won't pay somebody else to build clubs that I am perfectly capable of making myself.

Is there not a shop that will just sell you the parts?

I don't believe KZG allows shops to sell just the heads. I heard KZG will pull their account if they catch them doing this. The want expert fitting done so their clubs perform well.Really can't blame them on this as they are OEM expensive and cost good money on the wholesale end. I believe they use Endo as their forging house.

You wonder how KZG polices this so well. You'd think the approved dealer would purchase a large quantity of heads to fill any orders they will have in the coming future. Once your bill is paid for how would KZG know if you sold heads only or a custom fit set?

I just think they are missing out on so much possible revenue personally. There are multiple people (such as myself) that once built clubs for a living and am very capable (and in the case of my local KZG dealer) a lot more anal/precise about my club building. I would be willing to purchase components all day long and would actually love to play a set of KZG irons. However, i am not going to pay my local dealer over $1200 (yes he charges for a full fitting if you want the irons, can't just give specs and ask for that). I would pay $45-$50 a head though to build a set myself, and i think that is a reasonable number knowing there is most likely around $5 cost into it.

There is my rant...thank you and sorry.

i would love to at least demo a set of KZG irons to then decide if i would like to play them, but alas, no dealer in Tenn, KY, AL, GA....im not driving any further to demo a club that may or may not work for me.

they look great though.

I suppose I already have a set of the M Series, from a company called SAQRA. It is my understanding that they have liscensed these to KZG. I can't speak to where these are forged, but I do know that the SAQRA INB-2018 Forged cavity back is forged from S25C steel in Himeji, Japan

They have a pretty compact head but are well balanced and somewhat forgiving for their size. I have played a couple rounds with them since the pics, but I never got on with the graphite shafts.

So KZG is rebadging someone else's design?
Doesn't sound like a rebadge to me, based on what KZG_CHRIS said earlier I think that they just started out as the same look and then tweaked the shape and refined them to what they wanted, so same scallop thingies but different club.

Why post pictures of the Saqra twice? Are you an attention seeker? They look similar, sure. But the Saqras are reverse offset and does not come in 3 different sizes. The lines on the back of the clubhead is probably licensed and for looks they look similar, but the rest of the club is probably very different. The earlier mentioned reverse offset is a BIG difference in club head design. The KZGs are forged in China or Taiwan too.

No, not an attention seeker, The original post was so old that when it resurfaced, I hadn't realized that I already posted it. Good points about the reverse off-set. The quantity of product lines, really doesn't mean anything, just because one line is similar or the same.

I'm tired of seeing false claims about KZG in this thread. :offtopic: I don't want to see another one.
:ban:
I don't understand why you would remove my posts from this thread or imply a possible ban. I didn't assert false claims, I simply attached pics of irons that looked more than suspiciously similar. Please re-read my post:

I said "I suppose", and "It is my understanding." Neither is a claim. My understanding came from someone of some authority on another site, but again, I did not say that it was a fact, only MY understanding.

It is an opinion and not the first that may be wrong, but still an opinion. I also would not understand what would constitute threatening a ban.

That is our ZO Blade, (ZO stands for Zero offset) absolutely gorgeous head. We decided not to do a blade with this line just yet since we already have two different models of blades for people to choose from.
The ME from the new M-series is the closest you are gonna get but it is still a cavity back, but nice and compact.

Here is a link to the ZO on our website.

Hope this helps

When KZG makes LH Forged ZO blades, let me know.
