Things to do in Myrtle Beach...

So 8 of us are going to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks...aside from the usual golf what else is there to do around there? Any good golf shops?...or shopping in general?...any big malls, etc.? Also, what good restaurants would you suggest?

Martin's golf superstore has good selection and last time I went regripping was free with grip purchase. For restaurants, I liked Mykonos greek restaurant. They had live music and dance floor but I just went for the food. I got the calm casino, stuffed grape leaves and veal entree. Everything was cooked perfectly.

It's right in the middle of Myrtle. Our group of 20 goes there every year. The food is through the roof good! They also have an Italian buffet that will knock your socks off. Go check it out, you'll thank me later.

NY Prime for steak- NYC quality steak (similar prices too)

I was there for the 4th of July. And it was wayyyyyyy to busy for my family but,

1) Long Bay Golf Club was simply awesome shape and a blast to play..shot a 78
2) Greg Normans Australian Grill at Barefoot Landing has amazing food and atmosphere. Greg Norman Cabernet No8 Wine with Greg Norman Australian Premium strip loin au poivré with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, garnished with spinach and crispy fried onions mmmmmmm :clapping:
3) Conch Cafe in Surfside has the best Grouper fish sandwhich period.
4) Martins PGA Super Store is a must stop. I felt like a little kid.
5) Barefoot landing and Broadway had some cool shopping areas and feel like your at Disney World.
6) Jimmy Buffetts Margarativille at Broadway is really cool but food is nothing special.
7) MB National Courses Suck! Period..stay away
8) River City Cafe is just nasty disgusting Gross food/service.
9) Ny Prime is crazy expensive, better off at Ruth Chris Steakhouse for overpriced steak $34 vs $50

Outlets are across from bass pro in nmb on 17 or across from legends on 501. If you guys are looking for strip clubs then masters and gold club are good in the central mb area more upscale and gold club serves wayyy late.

Murrells inlet has great night life and amazing food, drunkin jacks is great for a good mix of sea food in more then just fried style All the bars down there are great on the marsh walk, salt water cafe is also great down in mi. down in litchfield my fav. Is quiggles awesome micro brews and there food is amazing.

Central mb ny prime is the best steak at the beach, Ruth Chris is second place to it, mr. Fish is my personal non inlet choice for sea food not an upscale place though. You have the main mall of the area here too with a decent selection of stores. Broadway at the beach is good but it is expensive for anything there, a new place opened up though called tilted kilt which is like a kilt themed hooters.

Market commons has amazing food, travinia is a fav of mine, Gordon birsche has great food and micro brews, nacho hippo has awesome Mexican food and good drink prices, kings st grill has a awesome happy hour and murrys down by kings st has some great deserts. Nice place to shop too.

North end there are some great restaurants, sea blue is my top choice up there but it gets pricey, filets on the inter-coastal is a really nice place too great food.

There are tonnsss of places at the beach, most are tourist/golfer targeted but the ones I listed are where a lot of locals will go.

Course wise legends is in good shape, south creek and north at Myrtle beach national are awesome right now norths greens might be spotted up though, long bay was great I played there on the 4th too but we finally got some rain so it might be wet up there I'd call first, diamond back, near long bay is in fantastic shape and is the best deal at the beach, 24 for breakfast lunch 2 drinks and a round of golf. River oaks greens are fantastic too really surprising easy to get out on if you want to squeeze a round in since its near the airport and 501. Any where with bent will be suffering a little on the greens, shaftsbury is in great shape but I was told that the greens are marked up a little. With the temps and lack of rain they are just fighting every where to keep bent alive. The witch is looking great too!

What ever you do find your way to Miyabi in North Mrytle Beach it is about the best food that you can get. In terms of the golf shops they are a dime a dozen with Martins and Golf Dimensions. If you need shoes though check out the Golf Shoes Outlets up near Brick Oven Pizza. In terms of shopping you can hit Barefoot Landing, and Tanger on both 501 and King's Highway. It just depends on what you are looking for. The best value on the strip is Hamburger Joes, across from Barefoot Landing, great food cheap beer. What more could you ask for? If you want any other details let me know. We go to Mrytle 4-5 times a year.

I thought I read above this is a trip of 8 golfing guys..... Yet you seem to be focused on the malls/outlets and designer shops....

Smart man if you ask me. If they wants to make that an "annual" trip he better get something nice for the wife while he's there. A airbrushed tshirt isn't going to cut it. haha :rolleyes:

Dillards and belk are as good as you get here, the north mb outlets have some higher end shops too. Market common on the shopping list too some great stores there
