59's look cool, 69 looks exactly the same as the 68's.

Not a big fan of the 59's . The 69's look nice and I'm looking forward to hitting them, however I would have liked to see a satin finish.

Logo placement is different...

I think the shape of the 3D Muscle is somewhat different - potentially larger.

cept for the movement of the running bird, the 69's dont look much different at all from the 68's. hopefully i can use this as a way to get a cheaper new backup set of 68's:)

- Logo placement. Moved from the sole to the back of the blade. A plus since it removes another dirt collector from the sole.

- 360 sole grind, similar to MP-53, MP-63. I have the 63s and love this feature.

- Muscle more defined.

the 59's look pretty similar to the AP2s. Are they going for the same player profile or are these for higher handicap players??

I don't think there is replacement this year. There is another thread where it mentions that the replacement will come out late next year.

Similar player profile - probably up to about a 12 handicap depending on ball striking. The MP line is designed for better ball strikers and the JPX line is game improvement.

I hate the logo on the bottom of my 68s. It drives me crazy because the dirt rips my paint fill out.

what else do you want mizuno to do. can't do much to a classic blade. the muscle is obviously bigger. same difference between titty 690 (mp68) and 680 (mp69). the muscle also has a similar look to new 712 mb sort of tapers away near the toe and heel. slightly rounder however.

Generally they run a 2 year cycle on irons - with their release in the Autumn / Fall

The 69 and 59 (2011) replace the 68 and 58 (2009).
Presumably there will be 64 and 54 in 2012 to replace 63 and 64 (2010).

The JPX range was more of a wholescale move away from the MX line (hence the mx300s only lasting a year)


Their woods are a Spring release and alternate between mp and game improver (now jpx)

So next woods due are MP wood line in Jan 2012

well the 68s didnt have one

i can only assume that the 69s wont either...

Here are the major differences between mp58 & mp59..(I found in Japanese mizuno website)

loft:
Iron : 4 5 6 7 8 9 PW
MP-59: 22 25 28 32 36 41 46
MP-58: 24 27 31 35 39 43 47

And...there is no 3 iron in Japan mp59 set.

Btw..the release day is 10/14 in Japan.
