It appears that the new R wedge does not have the same sole grind as the T. I don't care for the grind on the T. The R's may be the ticket.

Those are some sick wedges, The MPR especially, although I do find it a bit different that the r's have two different finishes on the same club. Part shiny, part dull.

These look amazing! They also look a little more digger/driver friendly to me for some reason, which I also like. Anyone else have spin issues (not enough) with the mizunos though?

Wow they look great! I have some Mp10s and they have been great! Very under the radar and solid spin. Ill have to give these a look.

like mentioned above, i have owned mizuno wedges in the past, specifically the raw haze wedges, and didn't get the spin out of them that i would have liked. they were soft and felt great, but i had to plan on the roll out. with my scratch 8620's i fire for the flag.
i would love to own a set of these. i am already planning my next set of wedges. there are just so many that look good now. the new VR pros look amazing too.

The T's are to compete with the Vokeys and the R's compete with the Cleveland 588s.

You would play CC grooves if you want to "play what the pros play" or if you are a super 1337 pro or am.

I like the T-11 line but am doing away with the DG Spinners.

Mizuno makes the best wedges around. Disagree as you might, but they make a fabulous wedge. Can't argue with japanese forgings!

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but didn't Wilson have an R12 wedge back in the late 80's with a painted brown shaft? A Gene Sarazen replica?

The more I look at the Mizuno head, the more I think it looks like the Wilson. Sole grind is different of course, but the head is familiar.

What ever became of Bob Mendralla. I belive he designed the above-mentioned wedge and some beautiful Wilson irons. I had a set of Staff Goosenecks, I believe they were called. They were gorgeous.

With regards to the question of spin of Mizuno wedges, I just started gaming the T-11 wedges (52 and 58 degree), replacing a set of Vokey C-C raw wedges (53 and 58).

In my case, the Mizuno's seem to spin and check quicker than the Vokeys on short shots around the green, but performance from the fairway is similar.

I'm not sure if it's the "Quad Cut" grooves, or the Spinner shaft, or combination of both.

Having said that, the feel of the Mizuno's is incredible!

That is why I ask about the spinner shafts. The feel of my mizuno wedges were fantastic, but the spin wasn't as much as I had liked. I did not have the quad cut grooves though. So I was hoping to help increase spin (if they need it) that the dg spinners would be a bonus.

I thought the T-11 was newer? T-11 is my fav all time wedge. SPIN and even more spin with the new spinner DG wedge
