Oakley sunglasses?

must oakley sunglasses for the course be either sport or active. will Lifestyle sunglasses work or will they fall off when you swing?

I am looking at the gascan pair

I don't think I've ever worn sunglasses of any sort that have fallen off my head when doing anything active. You're swinging too hard if your shades come flying off! That said, I don't have gas cans but have played with people that do.

Well the cheap visiball ones do fall off. Pretty sure it's not my swing. But thanks for input.

I have a pair of fuel cells and batwolfs. Neither one falls off, but I hate hitting balls in them. Short game stuff is fine. The fuel cells are a tad bigger then the gascan, but in hate to see the bra me during the swing. The batwolf is one lens and the frame is not as visible, but I still can lose the ball during my swing. I say stick to the active frames to keep your visibility at the bottom of the glasses. Maybe I'm just a weirdo lol, but it's my honest opinion.

I got my wife (black on black on black) Polarized Asian fit Flakjackets last year... she never wears them.. so now I do. I hate to waste $200 pair of glasses. The work fine for golf.

I would think the flack jackets would be good since there is not a bottom frame to the lens

I use Gascans for everyday wear but not for golf. They'll stay on your face just fine but the frame on the bottom of the lens gets in the way at times. I use Flak Jackets on the golf course.

The Flaks are made for physical activity, he's asking about the ones made for stylish reasons (Oakley refers to them as Lifestyle). The Flaks are indeed great for golf though!

Given that your head should be fairly still during your swing most any sunglasses that fit you properly should work. If you want to be sure, just try them on, bend over and shake your head – if they don't fall off, they should be fine.

Half jacket and Flak Jackets don't move an inch swinging. I had a pair of the Minute XX that lasted one round as "golf" sunglasses.

Gas cans fall off when your looking down at your putt and really any action that you look down. Best are flak jackets or their new speed jackets.

I've worn my Hijinx at a pitch and putt. Only issue I had was some fogging. Never felt any slippage and I was sweating a ton.

I have Half Jacket XLJ, Flak Jacket XLJ, Radar Range and the new Fast Jacket XL and none of those babies are going ANYWHERE when you swing. I also wear them for casual purposes as they're plenty stylish to me.

Just picked up a pair of Jawbones. Pretty slick. Part of the frame at the bottom is visible, but the lens is so deep that it doesn't matter! Played in them today for the first time and they are great!

ive played almost 100 rounds with my fuel cells. they have never been an issue once. neither did my gascans.

I wear the Oakley half wire 2.0 to play golf in and never have a problem with them falling off.

How do these cover your eyes? I find myself with normal sunglasses looking down through the bottom of them to the ball.

Glasses don't fall off if you have a good fit.

I have played with gascans since I had them. Never had one problem. Never had a problem with my fuel cells either

I have a set of bottlecaps, and have never had problems with them falling off. However I am still having trouble getting used to hitting shots with them on.

Not to derail the thread but other then the G30 lense, is there a particular lense that works best for Golf? Polarized the way to go?

If you search a little you'll find several threads on this.

G30 is the lens Oakley designed specifically for golf. They make several others that will work as well, it really comes down to personal preference. You'll see pros wearing a few different lenses depending on the light conditions. But the G30 is Oakley's primary golf lens.

Polarized lenses filter out reflected (horizontal) light, so they give a pretty good view of fairways at a distance. The filtering happens around the green as well, but it's generally not considered to be a benefit for reading putts. In fact, a lot of people think it hurts you ability to read the subtleties of the break. For that reason a lot of people remove their glasses to putt. Oakley's G30 is not polarized, but plenty of people are convinced polarization helps.
