Interesting how they made the grooves appear wider/larger than they really are. I LIKE IT! I had an old Phil Rogers Trusty Rusty 59° back in the day, great wedge.

I didn't even know that Cobra used to make wedges to be honest. I just always assumed that the Cobra staffers went with Vokeys, but very nice wedge though. Might want to pick up a 53 and 57...

The originals were cast 8620 carbon steel- like the 588 and 200/400 Vokeys. I assume these are the same.

Cobra wasn't always owned by Acushnet (who also owns/owned Titleist & FootJoy). They made a lot of different clubs when they were a stand alone company.

I think some of the reasons are the follow:

non-glare finish
easier to regrind to pro's specs without plating
easier to regroove if needed
some will say that it provides more bite but I think that is mostly a myth

I could be off and and missing some but I think that those are some of the highlights

Thank you so much for the kind explanation. I used to freak out when I see signs of rust forming on my 60* Cleveland wedge until I lost it. I guess I didn't need to.

Was a satin with pre-rusted score lines and black PVD finish, each with a non-plated finish that is 7% softer than chrome to allow it to rust even more over time. This is a sample and not submitted to USGA yet.

I wonder if they have fixed the "heel sharpness" that was prominent in their previous offerings? I always had to have them ground "rounded" to stop it from grabbing in deeper rough.

Phil Rogers did indeed design the original Trusty Rusty's. Wonder if he's had any input on these or if they're just "influenced" by the original design?
