You wouldnt call a drug by the name of the chief scientist that developed it would you? Like "Viagra was not developed by Pfizer, but by the Dr Hartzwurtz that is working at Pfizer" or somethin like that. This is Cobra's design. They own it.

Apparently, Phil Rodgers aided in the design of the Trusty Rusty with Cobra (made to his likes/specs). Which was why they had Phil Rodgers' name one the first re release in the 2000's under King Cobra. It had a more distinct sole grinds similar to the Eye2+ and 588 DSG- which coincidentally, I didn't care much for either.

A great wedge, but it [i]was[/i] light and in need of lead tape- for me. Once brought up to D6 and bent to my lie angle, it was all business.

I played the Cobra M Series Wedges from 2003 up until 3 months ago, the grooves were wearing down... I hope play as good.

Shape fine but I am not a rusty raw/ fan, I like club to look finished and keep that look awhile. Similarly I don't like the look of high end putters with unfinished welding on the plumbers neck etc

I am in the same boat. However, I got too excited about the Mashie because of this site, and I ended up hating that.... I want to be the first on he block, but also my wedges have been re-grooved a couple times because I love my current ones..... Tougher for me to switch wedges than my putter, even...

Finishes are

1. Raw unplated steel - with a pre-rusted face
2. PVD black
3. 100 % Pre-rusted raw unplated steel

Raw unplated steel - is 7% softer than traditional steels used.

Scallop design is designed to lower the leading edge while maintaining high bounce on heal & toe.

Shafts is a Dynamic Gold S200 wear a custom non-wear finish - laser cut logos

Grip (custom made for COBRA Lamkin 310 grip) is overall longer than standard grip - and grip tape is applied in such a way that / combined with longer grip - that you can grip down and feel no actual difference gripped in your hand

Lofts - Trusty Rusty
47 thru 61 - in odd #d increments. The standard lofts will be the 51-55-59 - all other lofts will available thru custom department. ALL heads can be bent


BIG Trusty Rusty

Uses a lite weight low density steel - 10% larger club head achieved by use of this material

Lofts are 50-55-60 - Standard lofts will the 55-60 - the 50 will be available thru the custom department - all heads can be bent

The Cobra rep told me that they'll be released in November. The chrome with the rusted face looks awesome.

This wedge will be available for retail just like that. They are offering two skill level wedges. Just head size differences for the most part. Another really cool thing about this wedge is the fact that the butt and lower section of this shaft is the same diameter rather than tapering. It also has a longer stock grip than usual so that when you grip down you down ever touch bare shaft. Definitely revolutionary, shocking to believe that this hasn't been thought of sooner. Puma is doing a great job running Cobra already! The wedges release no later than February. There is talk they may even release ahead of December.

My only complaint and it could just be the pic. Is that the head looks a little to rounded fir my taste. I like a more squared off look.

But a grinding wheel can fix that.

The larger head does not have the scallop in the bounce area - it's completely different - has nothing to do with skill level - and made from a different alloy.
