Will the black ones eventually rust on the face? That would be a unique and cool look but I fear that isn't the intention with the black ones. The grip idea is so simple and logical that I'm astounded that it isn't more prevalent, or even standard, for wedges.

YES - The black finish [b][size="3"]WILL[/size][/b] rust over time. All 3 finishes were intended to rust over time

I had some TR's and the Norman forged wedges also. The Normans were the really compact small head, looked amazing! I'll probably have to buy a set of the new Rusty's for '12.

Yeah the wedges look freaking sweet, already preordered mine through a demo day. Getting the black to match the sweet laser etched black shafts. The spin is totally unreal too, I didnt get a ton of spin before but with these its an extra 500rpms at least of spin. Goodbye forever vokeys.

i need to get the lie adjusted and a longer shafts but tgw and other sites that usually do this for free dont have the customize option on it. Whys that??????

they look nice and a great head shape
but felt really light compared to a Vok
might need some lead tape to fix er up

i could see them hitting the bag next yr
i like the rusty look ones...hate the black shafts tho
prob take those out for some DG or KBS or spinners

I have never been a big fan of the wedges that rust and never had any experience with Trusty Rusty wedges, but these ones looks so good I want to try a couple of them, thinking hard about a 55 and 59 and as a bonus would have a 59 degree that actually says 59 on it. Sounds like a re-do of a popular wedge with some nice modernizing. The unique grip setup sounds pretty good too. Most likely would have KBS shafts installed on it.

I counted 17 grooves on this wedge, same as the new Vokey SM4, pretty interesting, maybe a Vokey influence on that? Looks like the manufacturer's have figured out how to recover some of the spin lost with the new groove rule.

With all of the new wedge offerings coming out next year, maybe 2012 is the year of the wedge.

I assume that one can slow down the rusting process of these wedges if he wants to.

Looks like Puma is making a really good move with this.

When I was hitting it on the trackman I was getting at least 500 more rpm's of spin. When I hit them on the range i pretty much shredded range balls. Had to wipe off my clubs every so often because of so much build up. If you want more spin, these are for you!

UK retailers are knocking these out at $20 more than Nike / PIng / Vokey so not a chance of them selling. Cobra is not a premium brand in the UK but their 2012 prices are the higher than Titleist........I hope they have plenty of flex in their profit margins. Why these wedges are being relauched is a mystery over this side of the Atlantic, they died a long and painful death in bargain buckets and charity stores.

but guys...my Cobra rep came by today, and I started swing these in the shop. At address they look fantastic. 3 different finishes, all made to rust because they are not nickel plated. Yes even the chrome and black versions will rust. Hence the name, duh...

They did feel just a hair light on the swingweight, D3 on the 49* thru 57*, and D5 on 59* and 61*. But I did like the fully-blacked-out S200 shaft.

The laser etching around each groove does make the grooves look wider, like the old non-conforming ones. The black lamkin grips have an orange butt end, something the rep called "Puma-fying".

They are doing this to all the new Cobra products--adding touches of bright lime and orange, since the all-important FOWLER name is crossing over to be a Cobra staffer. They want all the new clubs to actually be distinguishable on the retail rack from other bland black schemes of mostly everyone else. Trust me, they will stand out.

The new Baffler hybrids have bright lime green grips, and the AMP series will be sporting the orange and grey color scheme.

But I digress, this is about the wedges.

The BIG Trusty Rusty wedge is also nice. Only 10% larger. Looks great. So great in fact, I've order the 50 and 60 to match.

It seemed like I holed out once a week from 85 yards with my original Trusty Rusty 59 degree...never understood why Cobra stopped making them, then forgot they ever existed when a guy named Vokey' s wedges came around. Long story short, thank you Cobra for re-releasing these Phil Rogers precision golf scalpels. The sole, leading edge, and blend into the hosel make these super versatile. The grip is not to be understated as well...it seems to be an .5 to 1.5 inches longer than standard grips, with less taper in the right hand. Seems like you can choke down quite a bit on those delicate chip shots while still feeling like there's a significant diameter of grip in your hands. These things are sweet, and they're converting die-hard wedge brand fanatics at my club. Total package in terms of looks, performance, and "puma-fying" differentiation w/ orange grip cap, orange paintfill accents, laser etched grooves, and black s200. I'm a PGA apprentice and have access to tour issue this-or-that and personal usage discount items. I bought these straight up retail and am extremely happy about it.
