For me the neoprene back is the best.

Definitely magnetic but unfortunately I only have one (Byron) that is magnetic. The thing I dislike about Velcro the most is how it wears out so quickly and that part of the cover ends up with a bend / bow on it.

Why is it that magnetic is not much more common?

Magnetic hands down. Works forever, no wear. Doesn't snag on anything. You can toss it on your clubs and it sticks right there till you get back.

My vote is for magnetic. Got my first putter cover with a magnetic closure this year and love the thing. Velcro wears out and it seems to just collect a lot of junk in it.

Actually, my preference is for the little neoprene "slipper". Just slide it off and stick it in my pocket when I (eventually) get to the green. I think the one I have now is the Stealth Boote from a few years back.

Here's my observation:

*Velco wears out over time, but the overall shape of the cover seems to be the best looking and easily fits in to a bag (squishes if necessary).
*Magnetic is my favorite closure, but the magnet makes the cover too large or bulky. Example, I have a Bobby Grace and Byron cover with magnets. They extend out and make it hard to slide the putter w/cover into the bag. The Kia Ma head covers had magnets which seemed slim, but actually made the overall cover a little bigger and bulkier.
*The Neoprene closure one is okay. At times, I've found that the neoprene covers are longer down the hozel/shaft and sometimes doesn't fit as nicely as the velco ones. Lots of potential here though...

They cost more to produce. Most companies use Asian made covers to save. The AM&E come with American prices. I can't figure out why Cameron doesn't use the magnet version that AM&E makes. I'm very surprised he's never released something with the magnets. I know he has a patented wrap around magnet style cover that has never been made.

Easily magnetic. I have a velcro closure on my headcover now, and I cant stand it. I really dont understand why magnetic isn't more common. I'd like to see a headcover that has a magnet to hold the headcover to the putter directly instead of just a magnetic closure, maybe this exists and i dont know it or there is some obvious design flaw to that, but i think that would be the best thing. But either way, definitely magnets.

The ping I series is magnetitized on the sole of the cover, not just the closure. Works well, but can get pushed off by my bag
