new shaft for 910 or change drivers

Recommended Posts

Posted a couple times about this about not really getting anything out of my 910 d3 whiteboard 83x accuracy is not a problem at all pure distance issue my club head speed is about 118-120 and am not pushing the ball past 300 as often as i like. I have been testing out the r11 and think that may be a good alternative maybe with a hd6 or change shafts in the 910 maybe to something with more kick and close specs to the whiteboard?

Had the same problem. Gone to an R11 and punching it 15-25 yards past where I was with the 910. I would not bother with the Supertri...........Whatever shaft I put in it I could not get the spin down at all

well, the cor is .83 on the 910 just as it is on the r11, so unless your 910 is broken I can't see why one head would give you all that much more distance. If your clubhead speed is 118-120 and you are not pushing it past 300 very often it would point to one of two things to me. the first would be course conditions, is the course you play particularly soft? I don't know where you are in ontario but i was in toronto a couple of months ago and it was pretty soft everywhere. the other thing i would do is get on a launch monitor, you might have really high clubhead speed but your other numbers (launch angle, spin) might be out of whack, you could solve that by a better fit to your driver. I used to play with the whiteboard 83x and i thought it had plenty of kick, so i don't think the shaft is the problem.

Honestly if you're a +5 like your signature says I don't know what you need my help for. hi.gif

I mean, I read the other thread and it looks like you are getting the same kind of answers that you are getting here. I agree with the guy in the other thread who says the numbers you are getting on the launch monitor do not add up to 285-290, you should either be hitting it further or your numbers are not what you think you are. Honestly dude, if you play to that level you have been around the block a few times, by now you have to know that one club does not make that much difference over another. the only way i could pick up a driver and hit it 25 yards further than another is if one was persimmon and one was a brand spanking new r11 or 910. the new stuff is all good, I dunno what to tell you, maybe try another launch monitor?

What was wrong with the 910 with DI-7 that you had on the BST?
no accuracy at all hit twice as many fairways with other shafts
I would find another 910 head or move on. I hit my 910 further than I hit any R11 I've hit.

I tried loads..............in both............and it ended up as a straight fight between the Ahina 60 or 70 and the RIP 60 or 70.............In the end they both were as good as each other. Nothing much to between them at all except the cost............bought the RIP.

I know the COR in the 910 and R11 are the same............but shaft for shaft, head for head..............the R11 topped the 910 every time. I'm no genius and this was done over several sessions on a monitor and then on the range. I loved the look of the 910 and hated the look of the white R11..............but in the end the numbers won over the looks. I'm not the only one that has found the 910 lacking on distance when put up side by side with the R11..................several others in my area have come to the same conclusion.

I had both drivers this year and the thing I noticed the most was that the r 11 spin numbers were unbelievable on mishits. On the monitor, if I missed the sweet spot by an inch, the spin was only coming up 3 or 4 hundred rpms but the titleist was coming up over 1000 rpms. The R 11 head is better on misses by far but I still use the titleist because I never miss the sweet spot..... I really am awesome....

If properly fitted no driver is longer than the other. Buying an R11 with a random shaft won´t solve your problems.

Get fit, either for a new shaft in the Titleist or for a whole new R11 and be sure ot get the maximum distance out of your swing.

Settled on a r11 tp rip beta 70 X really liked the feel have to see what distance outside is like compared to 910! btw what is taylormades delivery times on drivers usually like ?
In Canada typically 2 weeks or so assuming they have your shaft in stock, if its backordered its longer but they are usually pretty good about letting you know what the backorder will be when you order. Taylormade has given me solid customer service in the past.

ordered through someone in u.s are they typically faster?
to them probably, depending on where they live, but it has to get to you from them and that will take time as well, so it probably won't get to you in Canada any faster. Trying to get it for your last few rounds of the year huh? our golf season is pretty much done, you guys are lucky to still be playing!

120chs should produce 175 to 180 ball speed with center contact.and with proper launch and spin conditions that is way way past 300 yds. check you ball speed and launch and spin conditions on a launch monitor before you blame it on a shaft.
