This is good, Titleist could use some change, a little bit of modernity. To those of you who are bickering about them copying and stuff because they lost sales, you are both partially right. Titleist has been like 90% of the ball market for years and now other brands like Srixon, Bridgestone, Callaway, TaylorMade, and Nike area sneaking up on them. Bridgestone and Srixon use has increased 10 fold where I work and play frequently. Ball fitting is a big thing, this is how the little brands are taking down the big guys, they finally were able to show that they make better products and now Titleist is trying to make better balls like these guys to get back the share of the market they lost, and deservingly so, they didn't do enough to increase the performance of their balls. Don't get me wrong, they are still the overwhelming majority of the ball market but now it is like 65% Titleist and 35% other brands rather than 90-10. Titleist had been focused on selling the most equipment through upkeep of their image and now maybe they will try harder to make better performing equipment.

I like the idea, As well as Titleist does on image alone, I would like to see them do a little more towards increased performance. Think about it, they never do anything breakthrough, TM with the adjustability, Adams with aerodynamics, Callaway with forged composite, hexagonal dimples, Nike with compression channel, Bridgestone with ball fitting and Titleist with... tradition? I guess that’s their image and it works well for them, people just buy Titleist because they assume it’s the best. Don't get me wrong, they make some nice stuff, just nothing exciting. I almost bought a 910f because I loved the look and feel but the club just didn't get as good numbers as others which looked almost if not just as nice and also felt great. I hope they are moving forward and trying to do some bigger stuff with their equipment other than sell it.

Local shop tells me Srixon Q Star yellow is the hottest seller. I tried them and loved them. Now on the other hand Lee Trevino was quoted as saying that yellow is the color of cowards. He never wears yellow.:offtopic2:

Interesting move by Titleist. I'd be surprised to see them produce a yellow golf ball, but....

In the meantime, Srixon Z-Star Tour Yellows are on sale for $18.00 a dozen (plus $10 shipping) at www.Golfdomgolf.com. I bought 4 dozen...

Thanks for the link! I bought 3 dozen also. Great deal!

Looks like they caught on and raised their prices,

Titleist has made yellow and orange golf balls before, early 80's I think. Went good with my avocado refrigerator...:)

Correct. Some peoples point of reference for golf equipment is only a few years back. Orange and Yellow golf balls are nothing new.

I personally would love to see the ProV1 and ProV1x in orange! I used all of my step dads orange Topflight balls from his bag and I remember taking a one of those 5 sleeve packs they used to sell. My high school teammates used to make fun of me when they would see me tee one of those orange "rockflights" but when I beat them for a starting position they would get pissed. It does have a psychological factor and lets face it...we all need that when gambling for $2 dollar greenies and $1 skins matches. Please Titlesit make them mofos in "ORANGE"....Titleist if you can't hear me than Srixon please make the Z stars in "ORANGE"...I am certainly not a hater as I feel damn lucky to be teeing up a premium ball and benefit from the spin/wind/feel. They all have their own characteristics and I am not comparing the two....I just want an "ORANGE" premium ball. Thought about coloring all white ones with my orange sharpie, but I think I will wait....wait...wait...I am still waiting :tease::man_in_love::crazy::good:

TM still has the opportunity to do a MATTE white ball. Exact same finish as the drivers.

#1 ball of 2012.

Starting to notice a drop in sales, eh? Titty?
You HAD to COPY, didn't you? You just HAD to COPY. Again.

Bleh.

Z-Star XV is the shiznit. And everybody knows it.

Steady on - as if any Srixon ball would ever outsell or hurt Titleist ball sales - you wish!

Yes, all the Z- Star range are fine balls, but they ain't ProV's

Let's just see what the top selling ball and the one with most wins in 2011 will be and in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.............forever will be...........

Just have an idea it won't be Srixon...........................

In all honesty I really enjoyed playing the yellow Zstars as they were easier to find, easy to identify, and easier for me to follow in the air (bad eyes), however, it was about impossible to find them anywhere at the time. Since then I've become a huge fan of the Penta (have had no luck with TM clubs but these are the best golf balls on the market). So TM needs to follow and give us colored Pentas, because I'd get some!!!
