Pull the trigger or wait?

After a couple of years getting my game back together after a dose of the hooks I'm thinking of going back to more of a players iron. At the moment I play Scratch EZ-1s and while they feel great and play well, I find them a bit clunky in the shorter irons. My plan was to grab a new set in the spring and just be sure that my game is back where I want it to be as it's not really been that long since I have felt totally free from the fear of hooking. The fear always held me back even though I wasn't actually pulling much left and stopped me committing fully but now I am over that and playing pretty well again since around October. I slumped to a 18 hcap from 12 in a year but am now back to 14 and pushing 13 on a tough course.

I recently had a few rounds with my Hogan Redlines, after hitting them well at the range and did fine (34 pts stableford) and really had fun playing them but they are a bit much week in week out and I would want more forgiveness than they offer (think King Herod with a headache). Given that I have tried some Mizzys and hit the MP69s and MP63s as I began my search for a new iron and hit them both fine although I'd favour the 63s. Then I starting looking at the Cobra S3Pro reviews on here and rang around locally trying to find a set to demo...no joy.

As I carried on searching for more info about the Cobras I saw a place that has a special discount this weekend only that will save me 20% on them (custom options) and they are already £160 cheaper here in the UK than a new set of Mizunos. It's this weekend only though and I'm not convinced I'm quite ready to make the jump yet, having not tried many irons or shafts etc. On the other hand they are such a great price I am wondering if I'll get a chance to grab them at that price again and at the moment money is a real factor in my decisions. I could return the S3s for a full refund but only if they have not been hit, so that's not a massive help, although it's obviously fair enough from the retailer.

The key is I've not hit many of the shafts that are an option. I know the S300s are too heavy for me and I hit the Nippon 1150 last weekend it felt a little heavy too. That really leaves the Nippon 1030 (which I presume is a made for version of the 1050) and it seems fairly comparable to what I play now which is the Nippon Super Peening Orange but if anyone has hit both or knows more than that would handy.

I'm just not sure what to do, my friends seem spilt, some saying jump on it and others advising more caution. I'd really appreciate some thoughts on this and I've left this a bit late as the offer on the S3s ends at midnight, so I have just 12 hours to go for it or not. My heart says snap them up and my head is saying wait....what do you reckon?

From my personal opinion, I've tried all the mizunos very extensively and loved them. But then I tried the S3 pros and it was amazing and a lot cheaper in my case and similarly in yours I guess. They are great clubs, for me at least the feel and weighting of the shafts I have in them are pretty good. The feel is pretty amazing for not being mizunos and will be in my bag for pretty much until they break.

I used to have a set of Cobra SS forged so I know they can produce a quality forging. It's just whether the leap of faith is weighed out by the saving I can make really. [/size][/color]
