VERY FIRST LOOK AT THE PING i20 IRONS

I can't wait to see the wedges! I have never played 2 sets of clubs. I always need up selling the backup set due to like the gamer set to much. But I got the S56 irons w/ the Tour-S wedges this last summer and LOVE them. But the ho in me knows I have to test out the i20's.

It comes down to the look of the 3&4 irons and how the wedges look. I need a address position photo of the long irons with a ball and photos of the wedge set!!!! Then I'm sold...

Asleep, thanks for posting another beautiful shot of a lefty i20. Those look so incredibly gorgeous, and that's coming from a loyal Mizzy/Ping user. I will be looking forward to every minute of trying these!

They really do look like the best i-series to date! I have not even received my Custom AP1s from Titleist yet , but being the sick "Ping-ophile" that I am, I have had nine i20 irons in my Golfsmith shopping cart for two days, trying NOT to pull the trigger! I am getting weaker by the minute!

I believe it's the same grip, the ID8.

Bob, You know you are a TM guy and aren't going to change. ha ha The stock ones are probably the ugly ones above my post, course you can order different ones if you want. I ordered Golf Pride black VDR grips on my G20s. I will put them on the i20s if I order some.

Who is ordering them with what shaft? Debating on KBS C-Tapers or nippon Modus3.

One of the better players at PING was raving about the i20 L-wedge.

Tough to characterize the i20s wedges without a playing review, though, which may be in the works. Should have updated pics in a week or two.

I really hope Ping put the Eye 2 grind on these, IMO it would be a no-brainer and I would seriously consider going for the set 4-LW

Is anyone concerned with the amount of bounce on these compaired to Ping's other offerings?

6 iron
i20- 7*
i15- 2.8*
g20- 4.0^
s56- 5.0*

I am, as I am a sweeper. I was hoping to pick these up, but might have to stick with the g20s. I'm not good enough for s56s.

I wouldn't worry about the bounce on these clubs. Ping said they made the bounce higher due to the weighting of the club being more prone to digging. So I would at least give them a try before writing them off for having too much bounce. I doubt Ping would drastically change the bounce from the other i-series clubs unless it was warranted. From the few reviews I have heard about the irons nobody has said anything about too much bounce so I think it will be a non issue

OK now correct me if im wrong but these look a little bit bigger thank the I15s, are they supposed to be more or less forgiving.

From what i understand the set is supposed to be like 4 iron almost as forgiving as the G20 - 7 iron the same as the I15 - PW almost as workable as the S56.. So the best of all 3 sets in one.

I saw this as well. I normally like low bounce (especially in my wedges), but I'm going to keep an open mind when I try these out. The good thing is that the place I'm going to be buying these from with them will actually let you take a demo set out so that you can see turf interaction. I'm really eager to try these out ...

I am moderately concerned as I play on hard pan thanks to the South Texas drought. Then again, I am happy with my i15s and am in the minority in thinking they look great as well. The only think I don't like about the i15 is the offset. My miss is a hook or severe draw, but the offset hasn't exacerbated the issue, if anything I hit them straighter.

I was concerns about the bounce to before I bought the S56's and I play on a couple of courses that have FEW tight fairways and in the summer drought it is like hitting off green hardpan I the bounce on the S56's have never been a issue! AND I too am a PICKER! I'm more concerned with the description of a blunt leading edge as a picker instead of the bounce.

Golfsmith has them for + $9 per club(individual).TGW doesn't have custom options for the i20's(my mistake-sorry),but i checked the option upcharge for the s56's & it was zero $$.I'm going to demo them first,but get them from a wrx supporter when i know what combo that i want.

iD8 is one of my favorite feeling grips. I got them once by accident and now I order them on clubs from Ping.

Thanks but remember the KBS shaft was is a stock option on the S56 irons. Only the CFS shaft is listed a steel shaft for the i20's
