Geesh...I love my i5s but these are very enticing. Then I remember that I got seduced into a brief romance with the i15s a few years ago and regretted it. The i5s have finally forgiven me and now a younger sexier model comes along and turns my head again....

These are EXACTLY what I was hoping for in these irons. They kept the same progressiveness in the set from the lower to higher irons, and got rid of some of the offset in the scoring irons to help with trajectory. The cavity looks a gazillion times better than my i15's, and the ferule and overall satin colour looks sick. I will be pre-ordering a set of these ASAP, might even mess around with the U wedge this time around!

Now the only question is how much can I sell the i15's for...

I'm glad Ping went for the goal of consistent distance control as opposed to the ever hotter faces seen on so many irons these days (and the accompanying occasional flyer). I really don't need my irons to go a mile; I need to know how exactly far they'll go.
All-in-all a solid release from Ping. Well done!

When you think about it Ping had a really good release with the i5/G5/S58. There
are many of us still bagging these irons.

My thoughts exactly. I don't feel Ping made any irons significantly better than these which is why I still have the S58's in the bag.
This year I was planning on moving on to something different. If I didn't like the I20's I figured I'd give the I5's a try (my wife has G5's, really solid clubs).
But now that I have seen the new I20's, this is exactly where I had hoped Ping was going with this line. I15's just didn't do it for me.
Anyhow, I have a fitting scheduled for March, outdoor with flightscope at the performance fitting center. I look forward to giving the 120's a whirl.

I still game the g5. Really solid set.

Have tested out newer lines over the years and have not found g10 or15 to be a significant improvement over them. In fact, I like that the soles of the g5 are not as wide as the g15...they are as wide as the i15 if you want the truth...Almost got a set of i15 because they were more comparable to my g5 than the g15 were, maybe just a touch longer

On paper, these look absolutely perfect for me. I really want to test these head-to-head with the new AP2's. At $300 bucks cheaper per set, the i20's already have a significant advantage ...

ZZ65 only came in the one flex. which was between S & X. I'd say overall the ZZ65 only compares to the CFS X-flex -- both having the reinforced tip.

The CFS is not as soft feeling/high launching/spinny as the AWT was. CFS is and feels lighter than DG, with a bit more responsive tip.

ASLEEP, so if the AWT stiff was about perfect, would it make sense to "soft step" the CFS stiff once to get it close in terms of feel, etc.? Just trying to gauge before I dive into these. Great job, PING!

I'd say stiff = stiff.

Extra-stiff CFS should prove "stiffer" than extra-stiff AWT, imo.

Your best bet will be to consult with your retailer or PING directly.

That's interesting. I would love to have the whole set match if the wedges perform. I have tried that route with the G-line and it didn't work out. Maybe too many years of playing wedges that don't match the set, ie tour-w or tour-s style. Found the offset and the size of the club difficult to get around. But, in an i-series iron, I could see where these could work.

Well, after seeing that and salivating for months over the few tidbits we'd been shown I'm almost convinced. Pending a fitting and test against my G5s I'll be ordering a set of i20s 4-PW around the release date as a birthday present to myself. I'm hoping that they'll be in my bag for a long time and familiarity with them over time helps take me down to a single handicap and beyond.
