Any Reviews for the Ping Scottsdale Pickemup?

Not the belly or long, the standard putter.

I was seeing if any GolfWRX'ers are using or have any reviews for the standard Ping Scottsdale Pickemup, NOT the belly or long. It seems to get some love for the belly and long models, but can find any feedback from the standard length.

I'm asking because I'm a recent convert to a LHL SBST stroke, and currently use an anser style putter. Since swithcing to this stroke I have immediately improved my putting within 10 ft. But I have yet to find suitable putter, until.........I was stroking this at a local golf store, and my stroke became effortless, was smooth and love the high MOI and alignment. I have never tried a CS mallet putter, because to me its ugly, but I can stand ugly if it helps my confidence.

I have tried various putters from friends and at golf stores, but never has a putter felt more suitable to me than this. Before I shell out $$$ I was seeing if any of you have used it or If I am in the early Honeymoon phase.

I would love to hear if anyone is having success with this putter too. I have used it my local stores many times and I love the balance and feel. I've never used a center-shafted putter, and I think this putter is ugly as hell, but it rolls the ball great. I know Jimenez used this putter last year for a while, and now he has the belly version. I have been tempted to buy the standard version but I have not done it yet.

I have one. After a few trips to the store testing out a scottsdale anser, I had my mind made up and went in to buy it. While I was there the Pickemup standard caught my eye. Long story short, I ended up with it. I like it a lot, had it for about 6 months. The Scottsdale insert is the bets I've ever used.
The Pickemup is outstanding for me when it comes to distance control and short putts. Since I've gotten it though I"ve been working on my stroke - which the iPing app says is slight arc. Even though it says that I putted fine with the Pickemup which is fit for straight stroke. I do go back and forth between it and my Redwood ZB - two totally different ends of spectrum I know. Some days one works, some days the other works.

I was trying to make up my mind between this model and the Wolverine C. I chose the wolverine C, but they are both great putters. I am thinking about getting the pickmeup too. I love the insert. It provides great audible feedback and the feel is firm. Great putter for the price and it is cheaper than the wolverine c.

Does the sound ever resonate with you gentleman as being a major factor in your decision with a putter?

I've only just recently began to 'notice' the sound although I was always aware it was there. I don't mind it and in fact, do tend to like it, but it wasn't a factor in my deciding to game one. I didn't notice any of the other Scottsdale models having the 'ping' sound.

I used it all of last year and it's still in the bag for the beginning of this season. It's a great putter if you don't mind looking down at the Batwing every time you line up a putt.

i really wanted to like this putter, but it just didn't feel stable to me. Could never get comfortable over it. Found the TM ghost corza 48" and love it. I like how the shaft bend really gets me behind the ball.

I used the Pickemup for 1/2 season last year. I think the Scottsdale line is a nice looking insert putter for Ping. What drew me to the Pickemup was the Sabertooth-like performance, minus some of the busyness. Nicely weighted and it seemed to swing itself. The sound was one of the things I really liked about the putter. Reminded me of my old MgBr Anser with sound slot. The insert, to me, flet about right. Not too soft, but not too firm.

Ultimately, a CS putter wasn't for me so we parted ways, but I would highly reccomend this putter for anyone interested in a CS mallet.

I think there's an older thread or two on this putter from when it first came out a few years ago. try searching that if you haven't already. good luck.

Thank you, I just began noticing it in the last few months that gave me a different confidence on the green, helps keep my head down when I hear that *ping* of the perfect strike on the club face. I may have to pick one up I have too many long drive clubs and not enough putters, I am a one sided club ho Thanks for the advice and chiming in guys, good luck this year wherever you all compete.

I borrowed one of these and tried it on the practice green. WOW!!! What a nice putter - just feels absolutely right, swings beautifully, crisp sound off the face. Yes, it literally does go "PING".

I immediately started to hole putts. easy to align, very good distance control. This really is a nice putter.

I'm putting well with the Yes! Hanna right now, otherwise I'd be tempted.

It's something new and different, and I bet they had some smiles when they designed and tested it.
