Best iron type for a picker?

I'm mulling over another set of irons. I've played a blade/MB or 'Players' CB iron for as long as I can remember. I'm a fairly good 5 handicapper, pitching and chipping let me down, driving is my strength, iron play never really lets me down too much, always in play..... I very rarely take a deep divot and I'd say with 7 iron down I pick the ball from the turf with maybe a shallow or no divot at all. What kind of sole should I be playing with this type of connection? Would a sweeper/picker be better with a wider sole like maybe a Ping I series or are the narrow sole on the 'players' type irons I've been using the correct sort of sole?

Until recently, I was a life-long picker. Wide soles and high bounce were a nightmare for me, especially when the fairways firmed up in the summer heat.

Narrow soles and low bounce worked MUCH MUCH better for me. '07 X-Forged, S58's worked really well.

Narrow sole, and a soft leading edge works wonders. I've been a sweeper since I was 2.

5 handicap and a picker then you need to flight the ball better and can't go wrong with the Razr X Tours. Outstanding trajectory control and very consistent across the face yardage wise. Of course their are lots of great irons out there.

Off subject but most people don't pay attention to the bounce of their clubs... I've seen so many irons that have almost negative bounce that it makes me shake my head.

I think the most important thing would be finding a club with low bounce, check out Scratch's Sweeper/ Slider Grind.
