Which complete PRO bag would you go for ?

15 friends have to buy a complete bag for my brothers birthday

We are 15 friends and some family members who have to buy a complete bag for my brothers birthday.

Bag 1:
Taylor Made R7 425 Tp
Taylor Made R7 Ti TP 3W
Taylor Made Rescue Dual TP
Mizuno Mp-67 4-PW
Taylor Made rac TP satin GW+SW+LW
Bettinardi BB-8 anser with gold insert

Bag 2:
Titleist 907 D2
Titleist 906 F
Titleist 585 H
Miura Cb-301 4-PW
Titleist Vokey TVD Spin Milled GW+SW+LW
Scotty Cameron Studio Style

I know the 907 D1 and Vokey TVD will not be available until spring 2007 - but his birthday is in may - so maybe they'll make it in due time - if not the 905R will be the driver we buy for him, if this is the bag we pick for him....

Let him pick it out and get fitted for the clubs. If you are going to drop that much $$, the clubs had better fit properly.

 

Personally, I'd go with the Titleist/Miura/SC.

Yeahh...of course I'll make sure he gets fitted for the clubs - but he already has tried my Miura clubs and some of my Taylor Made R7 Tp stuff and already plays Mizuno irons and some old Titleist driver and woods (905S and 980F) - so he has a pretty good idea of what lie angle and shaft flex he wants for the clubs.

No my brother is not a particularely great playA' - but he has a solid swing and great short game. Plays from 4.2 HCP as of right now. He just wants the best gear possible - that also feels great and looks great :) :)

No my brother is not a particularely great playA' - but he has a solid swing and great short game. Plays from 4.2 HCP as of right now. He just wants the best gear possible - that also feels great and looks great :) :)

Wow, it's a close race so far.

 

You have really two solid set-ups there, altough I voted for the Titleist/Miura combo, you really can't go wrong with either.

 

BTW, 4.2 isn't too shabby. He should be able to handle those sticks just fine.

Taylor VS Titleist..........I love both brands and own several clubs from both brands.

 

Maybe also a contest between Betti and Scotty fans - a contest Scotty probably will win because of the immense popularity of the this particular putter brand - but if only you guys saw a real Bettinradi putter LIVE, I tell you these putters are a work of art. I also love Scotty putters, so I find it interesting to follow this thread and see what WRX'ers like :)

I'm voting Bag #1 because I like TM's equipment, and Mizuno pretty much speaks for itself IMHO. Not a big fan of either putter, but I've never played them, either.

Actually he might want to pick the Miura irons and the Taylor woods and driver and the Betti putter and maybe the Vokey wedges - but I thought it would be fun to make a poll - TM VS Titleist.

I love my own polls - hell...I'll admit it, I love POLLS in general :cheesy: :) ;)

 

But I'm pretty sure he will go for either TM woods and driver or Titleist woods and driver - you could very easy mix them up and maybe even get a better result, but you know - it's either Titleist or Taylor for some folks while other folks don't care what they mix up in their bags........ :cheesy:

Tough choice... if I didn't hate the rescue dual I might have chosen the Taylor. Can't go wrong with titleist woods and wedges though, although I would maybe choose the MP-Rs if I had hit them, and also the Bettinardi.

When and where did you purchase your BB-18 Bettinardi putter ?

I'm probably going to order it from Bettinardi directly, but they charge $80-100 for shipping the damn thing to Denmark using UPS :)
