New Callaway Hex Balls

GREAT balls!

Snagged a dozen of the Hex Chromes for the past week on my way out to a wedding and a round of golf at a nice private join on the coast.

Different greens than I'm used too and wayyyyy faster I thought. Was able to really spin the ball and flight it really well.

That said.. I thought it was pretty long, slightly longer in my mind than my normal ProV1. Took it today to my home club course, and was right. It's slightly longer on well struck shots, maybe half a club at most, but could be the drier conditions and the fairways being really full and running good now.

Our greens are finally really, really great. Firm and running well, and this ball flat out SPINS. Nice high trajectory to hold the greens really well with this ball, plenty of spin from the wedges. I actually almost flipped my lid with it though. One of the hardest holes, had a gap wedge in to this crazy hard green to a front pin. 115 yards, figured it was perfect. Hit it perfect, baby cut to it, landed, hopped and ripped it 10 feet back and right on the ledge of the front, and off the green.

Ball is slightly clicky, but less than last year, and similar to the year before. Flights really flat off the woods, and runs like crazy.

I like it alot. I did tear them up pretty easy this past weekend, but the short was short-ish, and I was hitting a bunch of 56 and 52 wedges into the greens, more than normal, and think that might have done it. My wedges are borderline browned out on the face, so they aren't super new or sharp. The ball today for 9 holes is still playable with 2 hard scuffs/cuts from wedges.

Overall, great feeling ball, Callaway made them closer to the IX and I line up they originally had. Think the ball flights a bit better, with more spin, but not sure if it's more durable. Only think I'm not impressed with, but understand that it's part of the trade off to have a long AND spinny ball.
