Taylormade SuperFast TP 2.0 ~ Best shaft

I've decided after messing around with the Ping i20, Titleist 910, RBZ, Cleveland TL & a few others that I'm going back to the TM SuperFast TP 2.0 head. I love the looks of that driver and the fade bias really appeals to me but the stock HD6 I thought was a big let down when I gamed this driver last year. I've seen new TM Fubuki's for £30 and a few older shafts like the Grafalloy NT Proto going for bargain prices, I'm just wondering for those who reshafted what you went to and how it performed in that head for you. I'm thinking I may even pull the Miyazaki from the Cleveland for it?

I shafted mine up with a Kiyoshi and it made a world of difference over the stock RIP Beta 70.

For me, the Kiyoshi tightened up the dispersion and brought the trajectory down a little bit...the real winner is that it completely killed my spin and now I actually get roll out with a driver.

I put a Diamana BB in my 1st one, pretty solid. Still a little wild at times, So i bought a 2nd 2.0 and put an x100 steel shaft @ 43.5". I probably have lost 5-10 yards, but i hit 12 fairways my last round.

I've booked in for 14:30 at Scottsdale golf M/cr..... I'm getting a stock SF 2.0 TP 3 Wood and I'm gonna get a 2.0 TP driver as well, going to test it stock on the LM then have them pull the shaft. They stock shafts so will give a few demo's ago and see what feels good and I'll have that fitted in the 2.0. This is my answer to my Ping Tour Van demo being cancelled due to Snow on Tuesday, a custom i20 was not meant to be!

The matrix that comes in the TP version is the real thing. I find the weight (65grams) feel, and balance to be pretty darn good.

+1. As a high bill hitter because of a tendency to hang back, i really like the trajectory and ball flight i get with the stock Matrix shaft.

MODS???? Why has this been moved to the Club Building section???? Some Mods must just be bored and move posts for something to do! I'm not asking advice on how to pull a shaft or install a shaft I'm asking about Equiptment, a driver and what set up people have found to be a good combo. Now this thread will just sit in here and hardly get any hit's, thanks.

Back on Thread,

I attended the fitting yesterday and ended up leaving with a SuperFast TP 8.5 with Stock Matrix HD6 in stiff. Ball speed was around 153mph, spin was right around 2500rpm and LA 12-13 degree's. Avergae carry around 255-260 with my best swing and contact Carring 274 yards. I played 9 holes last night with it and although not totally convinced with the shaft it felt pretty good and went well on my good swings. Bad swings and contact resulted in the ball loosing 10-15 yards and cutting but was in play each time. One thing I will say is that this driver wants to be hit, no steering it with this baby, a full release is required to get the best out of it. When released it flew straight as an arrow and a high flat ball flight, I hit one on the 14th (played back 9) which had my Mate just say Wow! Awesome trajectory and it carried 2 Fairway bunkers around 260 which are normally in my landing zone!

I also got a 13.5 degree SF 2.0 TP but I opted for the X-flex Matrix HD7 as I prefer a stiffer feel with Fairway woods. In the end I got both clubs for less than the price it would have cost me for the custom i20 I was going to get so I'm quite happy.
