couple of questions that 'search' couldn't solve

I want to send my 1997 Gun Blue newport II and my Pro Platinum newport II in for some good old restoration at the studio, BUT, first i have a few questions that i couldn't find the answer to by using the search option. I would be VERY greatful if somebody who is wise in the way of cameron putters, and the restoration process, can help me out.

1.) is it possible for a new version of the original grip to be put on it (the gun blue) because i couldn't see it on their options page?

2.) can the PP have my name put on the bumpers. i know there is a special instuctions box but it says i have to purchase a premium grip and headcover or something like that before i have the option to do this.

3.) how do i go about sending them from the U.K? i know people have done this before but i couldn't find the thread. detail of the procedure from someone with experience will be appreciated.

Hey Dan,

 

When you get your putter restored, you can pick just about any grip they have in the studio to go on it. If you click on the box that says Replace to original Grip, you will get either the original or the equilivant. They won't put your full name on the bumpers. You can get your initials done. It says 4 letters, but if you shoot them a E-mail and are nice and cordial they will normally allow 5. You don't have to purchase a new grip or headcover to get it done. I think it is like a 30 dollar charge or something like that. Getting it done from the UK isn't a problem at all, it just greatly raises the cost of shipping. I know alot of people who have sent their putters to their friends in the states just for thisreason. They send it to a friend via something along the lines of USPS Global Express Mail. Pretty cheap since you have to remember you are only shipping the heads. The friend then sends it in to the Sstudio via USPS Priority normally running less than 10-15 insured. If you don't know people in the states, you can send it in yourself. I'll see if I can find the thread for you. Best thing to do also is e-mail the studio and get their view on exactly what you need to do. I do know they will do it no problem though.

From what I've read Dan send the heads via Airsure which is cheap and allows full insurance.

 

The studio loads up the shipping for international customers pretty heavily - Particularly on headcovers. What we Euros need is a network of friendly US residents who will forward our little packages in exchange for some cricket souveniers or models of london buses and suchlike ;)

You know all you ever have to do is ask. LOL I know I in particular have friends scattered from Japan, UK Australia. You name it. They just shoot me an e-mail, Paypal me the money and I normally do it for them. All it takes it trust. I don't do it anymore, but that is more to do with me boycotting ebay once my account was hacked and ebay was being a jerk about it.
