Played Teravista this week, the weather was too good to pass up a round at a good track.

Its been a long time since I played there and I was hitting the driver and 3 wood long way due to hard fairways. Had a wedge on most Par 4's. Felt like the irons got pretty much no play.. Shot an 80 (and this was with a triple on par 5 and a double on one par 3). Will have to play the tips next time.. if the fairways are this hard after all this rain, it is not playing its full length for sure.

I played teravista on Sunday. Fairways were quite firm. Ball rolled forever. Greens were in good shape though.

played Colovista this morning.. $10 on golfnow.com.. looks like they converted a par 4 on the back 9 (one after the elevated par 3) to a par 3. I hope that is temporary, as I like that hole (even thou it kicks my butt every time)

Played 36 for $49 at Lago Vista today. Greens were surprisingly grainy for this time of year. Course was in good shape.

wow! the karsten irons are incredible! on the 3 mishits i lost only 15yds...really impressed! went to gsmith to check out a new driver...dialed in the srixon z355...could be next in the bag! really need the added distance off the tee...
lions was a little tough cuz they couldnt mow the greens with all the rain, which finally abated around 11...putting was tough, especially after the fast greens at shadowglen...
really hope they keep lions open. great track and staff!

Got the Srixon driver...set it up at 9.5 with fade bias...picked up 30 to 40 yds and stayed outa trouble at the same time! Been shooting 84 the last 6 weeks...78 today! Amazing how those extra yards allow you to get closer on approach, and 5 footers for par instead of bogie...tomorrow at mo willie!

Played Lions this morning @ 7:30am.. did not realize they had jacked up the green fees to $30.. felt it was a bit much for a municipal course. I wish the city would keep the fees nominal.. and not try to compete against the other public courses. The public courses don't get our tax $$ and are trying to make a profit.. but the city run courses should operate to provide affordable playing options to the tax paying public.. rant over

Avery ranch is solid. It's one of my favorites. Unfortunately I live on the wrong side of Austin for it to be a regular occurrence

79 yesterday at mo wms, including near ace and near eagle...both 5 inches from success, lol...
had a 12* driver...at 9.5 i got more roll out, i guess...kept fading it yesterday, which wasnt the flight i was looking for, but certainly kept it in play... golf...

$499 for unlimited golf Dec 1 - Feb 29. No cart fees either.

Seems like there are quite a few weekend tourneys so the rounds are slow but I've been out there 3 times since getting the pass. Hoping to get 15-20 rounds in. They were only selling 100 of the memberships, not sure how many are left.

30-40 yards?? C'mon Bill, I'm calling BS on that, I know we're on WRX, but that's a bit extreme

I wouldn't necessarily call BS on it. I had a 913D2 driver that I eventually traded for my current Fly-Z+ and gained 20 yards average according to my stat tracking. Some people just hit a certain club better.

I think it was the lower loft giving me more roll out, but then I sprayed it all over colovista yesterday and took it back to gsmith and picked up a k15 @ 10.5...I dont think I hit adjustables well...really wanted a club that would draw consistently...we'll see how it fares over the next several rounds, lol...

I actually hit one 265 at lions muni, but then I eventually started power fading the last few holes, did the same on Sunday's round, and found I had to dial back to get it under control, which means about a 200yd drive, which I can accomplish with the $25 rapture...and yesterday I either pulled it way left or sliced it...tried all the settings...just didnt work out for me...looking for a draw and the roll out on a consistent basis like I used to have back in the day...if I know for sure what the flight is gonna be, I can really lean into the drive and not be surprised, and in the simulator it was all draw, not straight or right, so we'll see today...

k15 was awesome at colovista...big test tomorrow early at lions, and bluebonnet the following morning! greens at colovista rolled true, i felt...fun course!
