I guess I'm confused. Does this mean the plan to play at Vaaler on Sunday has changed?

now i'm confused! i thought i didnt hear back from you, so holland and i are playing wolfdancer sunday...might be losing my mind after the last stroke, lol... i'll have to make it up to you next weekend...

you'll have to make sure we stay in timely contact from now on, cuz my mind is a bit fried since jan 7th...my left side feels like it's about 10% weird right now...

No worries Bill. Are you playing at 9:40 at Wolfdancer on Sunday? There are two spots left on Golfnow for that time. I'll keep an eye on those and if there's one still left tomorrow night or Saturday morning and it goes down from the $76 it's at now I'll snag that time. I'll let you know Saturday morning either way. If not we'll play again soon.

Everyone's jumping on the good weather! We played lions and the wind wasn't nearly the factor we thought it might be...really tough pins, tho...shot 84 and it was all putts, lol...

How was Wolfdancer yesterday Bill? I ended up walking on at Kizer. It's in great shape right now.

well...it's a beautiful, unfair, too many bunkers, greens running 14, kinda course! somebody went slap-happy with the bunkers...on a 160yd par 3 they put bunkers 50yds out...wth??? putts running off the green...it's a beauty, but i probably wont be back due to the unfairness of each and every hole...i'm a decent golfer, and played a lotta courses all over...wolfdancer is one of the most unpleasant i have encountered...you make a good shot, and you get penalized...

did par 17 and 18 for the only pars of the day...did have a birdie putt, but it almost rolled off the green...

Wolf reminds me of lost canyons in socal...fred couples design, and he designed it for pga players only, is my guess...a beautiful course, but ultimately so unfair it's unplayable for a 7(at the time)hcap...you dont get a lot of repeat business doing that...

Oh, and lions needs to cut down a coupla trees, lol

Did I mention trees in the middle of fairways? Wolfd could be an incredible play, but it's so tricked up it's unplayable...why penalize a tee shot in the middle of the fairway with a tree or bunker? I just finished Google map look at it with satellite shot, and you can see one hole with a big bunker that extends all the way down the fairway, which is tree lined already! Give us a freaking chance, for crying out loud! Penalize a bad shot, not a good/decent shot...

Nah, I won't be back. It's just not fun. I think I'm done with this rant now, lol....

The one time I played Wolfdancer it beat me up pretty good as well. It's a very scenic setting but I agree that the bunkering and green contours are a bit over the top. There are several area courses I prefer to play.

Told ya those greens are fast! When I was there the pin placements were brutal too. You truly have to plan your misses there and miss in the right spots.

On the other end of the spectrum, I played terravista 7yrs ago and thought it was kinda flat and boring, and never returned. Discovered lago vista and it's still a favorite...I guess I like elevation changes, a decent chance at hitting a fairway, greens that run about ten, and a tuna melt at the turn...wolfd didnt have any of that...lions did...guess where I'll play again...

First off, that's a grade A rant. Well done!! Ya, the tree in the fairway on 7 is a little ridiculous. It makes you flirt with the left side, where all the trouble is, and turns what should be an easy hole into a much tougher hole. With one or 2 exceptions I enjoy the greens out there. You can at least count on getting a good roll. The sixth green is borderline unfair though. When they put the pin up in the front it's nearly impossible to get a putt to stop near the hole. I will say however, that once you play the course 2-3 times it doesn't seem nearly as difficult once you learn the bailout areas on each hole.

for what they charge at wolfd, i can play kizer 3 or 4 times, and that's a much fairer layout...have you played vaaler?

I'm trying to convince my buddy to play the last Sunday of this month since we'll be in town for a bachelor party Saturday which we'll be at top golf during the day. any $30-40 courses in the area not too far north?

lions, morris williams, bluebonnet, kizer, clay...all fun tracks! kizer is wiiiiiide open, yet very challenging...i like all those listed for a variety of reasons, and they are all terrific...

Played mo wms...lotta wind...missed 8ft eagle putt by THAT much on the 2nd par 5 that runs along 969...never been on that green in two before, so it was a thrill...wind was r to left at the time...just swinging easy...then I started trying to step on it, like the idiot I am...wound up 5 over on the front, but 3 over on the back...guy I was playing with was 130 out on 16...hits a high fade onto the green, but we cant see it from the fway...pull up, and no ball! It's in the hole for an eagle two!!!!

I gotta remember to swing like its about 70%.............

$39 is a great rate for the Bandit which is certainly one of the better public access courses in Centex. How did you get on their email list. I was checking out their web site and couldn't find any info on it.
