Mack Daddy's backyard bunker!

About a few months ago, I started scheming about a backyard bunker. I turned to my mom for help, since she was on board with the idea. She was on a walk one day when she saw that our naighbor has a big John Deere Tractor. BINGO! We walked to his house and asked if he would help us. Well... he was as excited as I was!

After the digging was done, I bought some sod for the face of the bunker (opted not to do the railroad tie siding:

And finally a before vs. after comparison (so far!)

 

Getting sand from my other neighbors' daughter in laws' business, but I'm not sure when it will arrive.

Also, we lost our raft in a windstorm over a year ago, and found it miles away last weekend. I positioned it 75 yards from the green, and instead of doing my homewrok, enjoyed a practice session on a beast island teebox!

Make sure to get the right sand. Don't settle for the grey stuff... get what is found at nice courses.

Did you build in some drainage? Is the bunker deep enough with enough different lie possibilities?

[/quote]The sand we are getting is the same stuff as White Horse Golf Course uses in Kingston, Wa. I really wanted to get white sand but it was $100 per sq. yard, while the sand im getting is $20 a sq. yard. Yes there is drainage, and yes there is lots of different lie possibilities!

It looks amazing. I just saw he is from Seattle. The pines just look like pure heaven and the lake is madness. I would live there over a hot nasty place like Florida any day of the week. The Pacific Northeast and north of there in Canada is maybe the most beautiful place on the planet.
