Gotta love Cameron Newports!!!!

So I sorta have this thing for Scotty Cameron Newport putters. Here is my current collection...

 

Oil Can AOP, 360g @ 33.5"

 

 

 

Button Back, 360g @ 33"

 

 

 

CT TeI3, 350g @ 34" (A021238)

 

 

 

Sole Stamp TeI3, 360g @ 33.5"

 

 

 

Studio Select, 360g @ 33"

Before anybody asks, yes, I do game each and every one of them and yes, I do my own painfill. My primary gamer is the Deep Milled TeI3 but I have been using the Tour Rat more and more. Even though I love the Tour Rat, nothing beats the feel of a TeI3. With all of the putters at roughly the same length/weight and all sporting black Cameron cords, it's very easy to transition from one to the next.

Here's a question, were any of the NPs made smaller from heel to toe than the others? Or are they all around the same?

The top putter looks very familiar....did you buy it on EBay by chance (or maybe I sold it on here..can't remember)? From me? That milling is pretty rare for the model, and I remember the gold paint fill that didn't want to stay put.

I don't collect them per-say, but I do have a matching headcover for every putter (including a CT and Tour Rat). Maybe I should get a pic of those too???

The AOP, sole stamp and deep milled TeI3 are all final weighted via tungsten. The CT TeI3 is 350g direct from Scotty Cameron.

From heel to toe, not really. The might measure slightly different but, when looking down at them, they all look about the same. The Studio Select (including the BB), Tour Rat and the Select are slightly deeper from the face to the back edge. At least they appear to be deeper.

Everything that I've repainted has been done with Tamiya paints.

BOS golf did the deep mill and the refinish. They did a fantastic job. Since they were the ones who did the final finish for SC back in the day, they sort of know what they are doing with these.

I did. I initially found it on TCC but the seller preferred eBay to a direct sale. I ended up getting it for about $50 less than I had been planning on offering him in the first place so it was good. If I was a betting man, I'd be willing to wager that it was you. I've since deleted the PM's on TCC though so I can't say for sure. ETA: If you look at my WITB thread, the original pics from eBay are posted there.

Without the weights a Studio Select model will tip the scale at 330g. The Selects are 10g heavier, 340g

Are you putting the tungsten in the putter shaft? 20g's of weight in a shaft throws the balance off quite a bit. If it works for you then you know... keep doing your thing, but wow... that's ridiculous lol.

Yeah, that's probably true. The 009 is pretty close to the Newport though so it's all good.

I have a no idea. I'd like to add a 009 (as in stamped 009) at some point. It's hard to find them without a sight line/dot though. The few that I have seen however haven't been in the price range that I was comfortable with at the time though. I would also totally love to get my hands on a Super Rat but, at today's prices, there is no way I'll have one of those anytime soon. One of the new Inspired by Rory McIlroy putters would be nice as well but, there is a sight line so... not gonna happen.

ETA: almost forgot (gasp), I've been lusting over a Classic I for some time now. One of these days I'll pick one up.

IMO, the classic I is pretty reasonably priced for what you get. when you're looking, you can find them in the $500-$750 range pretty regularly, and it's an awesome flatstick. good luck finding one.

Thanks for the feedback. I've owned NPs in Oil Can (AOP), SST, and SSL (very briefly), and still have a Mil Spec and GB, but visually, have liked the darker finishes because of the illusion of a smaller head. I was wondering if there were any that were truly smaller. I'm gaming an Odyssey PT #7 now because it's shorter from heel to toe than my Mil Spec, but am considering the 2012 NP because I think it'll appear that way too. I know, I'm weird.

Maybe a little weight but, 1) we all are, and 2) you're on to something. The black putters do appear to be smaller at address (the same can be said for irons). The new Select does appear to be a little smaller at address (unless you place it right next to a Studio Select, then it's obvious that they're pretty much the same size).

I've always thought that the ultimate putter would be a "baby Newport".
