Golf Club Shopping in Seoul, South Korea

Is it any good? I've never been to S. Korea and I know golf is expensive there, but I won't have time to play any anyway. I was wondering if they had Japanese market clubs that we might not be able to get here in the US, and if prices were any better or worse. However, I do know that it is still a golf-crazy country, especially with all the S. Korean professionals on the various tours, so there's gotta be some good stores for nice golf equipment, right? I guess we'll see about the prices. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There are tons of good stuffs over there (good being eye candies).

I wouldn't shop there because golf is still considered high end sport (even though it is becoming really popular) and there's luxury tax being applied and makes it even more expensive.

Then local tax, import duty plus high margin on top of that... you will be spending fortune!

If you have money to indulge, go right ahead but I just can't justify overpriced equipment that those are not so better than most of OEM here in U.S.

I was randomly there several years ago on business and found it to be underwhelming (golf shopping), the country was awesome. You can get JDM stuff thru TSG and various contacts from here way cheaper than you can get thru Korean retail places.

Okay, that's essentially all I needed to know, thanks guys. Guess I'll be browsing the BST still while over there... just kidding. Not really.

I'm essentially just looking forward to seeing the place, trying the food, and the other touristy stuff, and was thinking maybe I'd look into clubs if there was anything worth buying, but I guess not.

I was there a year ago and I was surprised at the dearth of retail equipment stores. There was one street that was known for their golf stores but i was underwhelmed. And of course theres the price

I live in Seoul and would have to agree that it's not the best place to go shopping for clubs. However, if you have nothing to do, there are a couple of shops that I could recommend. Ave Golf near COEX is fairly large and has a half-decent selection. As others have said, the prices aren't that great, but they will usually give you a discount on the sticker price if you ask for it. There's also a Titleist brand shop that I've been to where they have a selection of Scotty Cameron custom shop putters, some Circle-T merchandise, lots of Cameron head covers, and other Cameron stuff. Let me know if you're interested and I can try to tell you the locations.

Hello, I purchased a set of Bridgestone V 300 VIII at Ak Golf inside Lotte in Myeondong about 2 yrs ago. I'm travelling next month(feb) to buy some Mizuno JPX s 30 irons. Can you make any suggestions for Golf stores. I didn't have much time before , but now im going to have more time. Also will the stores ship the clubs to the USA, if not any shipping suggestions.
