Well since the USGA hasn't handled the problem already, I'm taking things into my own hands.

 

As of now, I am gonna be hitting up all the future PGA events and I'm gonna bring a high powered airsoft sniper rifle with me. So when you start yelling, I will pull the trigger and leave a welt on your face. Maybe that will get you to shut up? So the next time you think about yelling " mahed pototoes" "sausage" "light the candle" or anything else that pisses me off, enjoy the 6 mm BB that will hit you hard. I'm sick of it, and it needs to stop. Totally classless, and totally takes away from the sport.

They paid to go to the event, the USGA allows alcohol to be served and I doubt cuts people off like they should. I dont care if someone yells but if you create the atmosphere for this behaviour, its going to happen. We should be more concerned without own personal well being and our own actions before we worry about the actions of others.

The solution to all this crap is simple. Have a deposit when you purchase tickets. If you do crap like this then you are ejected and you don't get your deposit back. Keep increasing the deposit till people stop doing it.

I agree I'm really sick of hearing "get in the hole!" after tiger hits his tee shot with a 3 wood on a par 5. Hearing someone shot "get in the water" a tourney or two back was just disgusting.

I dunno, I gotta side with the OP on this one....for the most part. I went to the 2009 US Open and because of that, I vowed to never attend a Major again unless it is the Masters. I understand that golf is now a more youthful sport and with the economy being what it is they really can't be picky about the people, so anything short of yelling in someones backswing or streaking will go without consequence. I know that I will be called an elitist or a whole slew of other pointless names because I feel that there should be respect and rules for such things, but it's just the way I see things. I don't appreciate this any more than I do people wearing jeans and sleeveless shirts guzzling beer at 1030 in the morning on the course. In my opinion it needs to be curtailed but it wont be.

As for the violence portion of it, it's funny to imagine but that's about it. I don't really condone violence on the course unless it's you ending it. There should be a group of midgets that walk to courses in large crowds and squirrel taps any drunken idiot that shouts at a tournament.

Here is a little 3 step list of why Mackenzie is not serious and anyone who thinks he was actually serious should review my 3 step list until they understand the joke.
1. Mackenzie here is not financially available to attend every future PGA event, he's also in Washington, so they will not have many PGA tournaments at all.
2. They would not allow an airsoft rifle into the golf tournaments, so Mackenzie would not have the ability to shoot said drunks in the face.
3. He clearly made a post under the OP saying "But seriously, someone needs to set some boundries."-- That would imply that he was not serious in the first post.

But I do think that there should be rules enforced to keep the sport classy.to those that thought I'd seriously bring any kind of weopon to a professional golf event. You should honestly be working to improve your common sense rather than flaming me on something that was a joke, which is why it is in the 19th hole. To the guy that said I probably hate African Americans and homosexuals, my thoughts and prayers go out to your family as it must be near impossible having to live with someone so ignorant.
