TaylorMade RBZ Tour with R11 TP shafts

I picked up a RBZ Tour this week. I went for the stock model with the Xcon 6 as I didn't feel the upcharge price for the HD6 was worth it. Thats when I look around on Ebay and see all sorts of R11 TP shafts being sold off very cheap. I've been looking particularly at the Fubuki Alpha 70's (£40) and Diamana Kai'li (£50). I know the R11 shafts have a different adaptor, which i believe alters the face angle/loft a little less then the RBZ version. Who else is using R11 shafts in a RBZ Tour head, have you had any problems and what is the best combo you've come across?

I am using one and it has become my designated fairway finder. It is .75" shorter so I am not as long but it is very easy to hit

I just took delivery of a Kai'li 70 with the r11 graphics. Not sure if it will be the best shaft for me but the price was such that I couldn't resist. I figured if I didn't like it in the driver I could try it in my r11s FW. No problems using it in the RBZ tour head though.

Where are you finding such low prices? I took a look on ebay.co.uk and couldn't find any!

I know you asked abiut rbz head with r11 shaft but I have an R11s head, a tour issue r11 shaft with an R9 tip. My point is, all the fct tips are interchangeable so the only issue is if you want the full 1.5° that the rbz tip offers vs the 1° r11 tips are

ESC Golf have a lot in stock, buy it now options around £69.99 but he has that many that he is listing some on normal auctions and thats where I've seen them go for £40-£50.

I used the diamana TP shaft from my supertri. Same tip and in my RBZ it makes it even more of a point and shoot driver. Unlike most on WRX though I only average about 250 though.

ESC Golf have a lot in stock, buy it now options around £69.99 but he has that many that he is listing some on normal auctions and thats where I've seen them go for £40-£50.

Those might be the ones I was looking at. Saw a few with buy it now options for 69-89. Might snatch one up, as I'm looking to switch to a TM driver at the end of the season. Anyway, thank you!

Edit: I noticed I could snatch up an R11 TP Fubuki Alpha and an RBZ with the stock shaft for 100 pounds less than a custom RBZ order would cost me. Awesome!

Just a note of caution. I purchased a R11 TP colours Fubuki alpha 70 Stiff for just under £40 inc postage from ESCgolf. What the listing doesnt tell you is that the shaft is brandnew and uncut with no tip or grip fitted. Luckly I had a spare tip so it wasn't a problem. I sent him a message asking him to make his auctions clearer but he said that the Auctions with tip fitted state that on them. With a close look at his listings it apears the ones on a Buy it now are the ready to go with grip and tip fitted, the normal auction one's are the brandnew uncut shafts. Still Great value for money.

I bought the RBZ Tour 9 with the x-con 6 in an x. It was ok but felt my Burner Superfast TP 2.0 with the HD6 X was better. The launch was lower and more controllable with the Burner. So I picked up an HD6 X in RBZ graphics and gave it a try. For me the launch was still higher than the Burner for a little more carry and ended up with better roll out than the x-con. In reality though overall it was not really longer the the Burner TP 2.0. Looking for a little lower launch for the RBZ I bought a Fujikura Motore F1 2.0 X in R11 graphics. This tour issued shaft produced the trajectory I was looking for. Launch is just a touch higher than the Burner so I get a little more carry but lower than the RBZ HD6 combo so I get more roll out. The Motore does not feel as smooth as the HD6 but the stouter feel lets me know I'm not going to lose it left if I go after it. On top of that I feel the RBZ Tour is more forgiving than the Burner TP 2.0 on the miss hits. This set up flat out works for me and I have been tinkering for a while looking for the right set up.

I am a Marple based club builder. Recently put a PX 6.0 black in a RBZ for a memeber at Hazel grove where I am a member and he went onto 3rd in a 36 hole comp and dropped his handicap from 7 to 5. What sort of swing speed, ball flight are you?

Although I'm quite late with the reply, thank you for the heads up! If I can snatch up an RBZ Tour for cheap next year, I'll probably get one of his shafts and have it installed locally.
