Kananaskis is about a 37 hour drive from Detroit, a good 40 hours from Edmonton.

 

I do live in Southern Ontario right now though, maybe get a game in the early spring?

I am not from Detroit- My granparents live there- I was going to offer a trade of golf. You guys treat me up there and i will treat you in the states. That is if it was close. I can get on the TPC of Michigan any day of the week during the golf season. Also over to michigan states home course along with unlimited time at there practice facility that i could spend days at without getting bored. Well i guess that idea is a bust- sorry guys

I have been to many different parts of the country and have takin lots of phone numbers you never know when your going to need to call in a favor. Have you ever heard of Tim Gillis?? He is the VP of true temper, I have played golf with him many of times. Also Tom Addis( i speeled his last name wrong) form PGa President I have his number too. I went to a golf college for a little while and met some people that you need to met in this business. Scotty Cameron came and talked in one of my classes for 4 hours. That was a treat. I then got invited to his studio and had fun on his putting machine and got to spend a day figuring out why I TRUELY SUCK AT PUTTING! It has been great in that aspect. For the golf in Michigan it is more my grandpa knowing everybody and they give respect for him by giving me the same. Thus my grandpa does not play golf but they know I do so i get the hook ups!!!! It has been fun :)

MatucH im wondering how you played Royal Mayfair seeings as how it is private. Also what did you shoot at Norther Bear from the tips?

Shot 71 at Country Hills in Hendersonville Tennessee (Its a B***h). One of the holes is a 530 yard par 5 dogleg left, around a mountain. The fairway slopes insanely right into a valley of trees and an adjacent hole. You have too land your ball in the left hand rough and hope to God it stays in the fairway ( it won't) unless its really wet like the day I played. Your 2nd shot has too land abouy 10 yards left of the green to stay on. If the ball lands on the green it will ignite straight right and down the valley into the trees (impossible up and down).

 

The other crazy hole is a straight up hill par four that your ball will actually ROLL BACK TOWARDS YOU if you hit it passed 230.

 

I've played much longer and tighter golf courses but this cours is the most ridiculous setup I've seen or heard about.

Our pro got us on Royal Mayfair, they were having a shotgun tournament at 1:00pm and they sent us out on a staggered start at 8:00am.

 

Shot 78 at Nothern Bear from the tips, halfway through the round a grounds keeper stopped us because we were playing from the tips and said only "Pros" were aloud to play there...

and a 72 on a par 72 on the mens tees at lake chesdin (hooters tour plays there) best nine there was 34 on par 36

I played a tournament back in my hometown a couple of years ago. No expectations of high finishes since I have only been playing for 4 years but compitition is the way to get better. I carried a 12 hcp then and thought the tournament would be fun. I had been traveling to see my dad a lot since he had been diagnosed with cancer a few months earlier anyway so I new I could easily be in the area.

 

My dad passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday of that week and the funeral was on Friday. I played in the tournament on Saturday morning and was not thinking about golf AT ALL. I shot 73 on the first day of the tournament. I only managed an 89 on day two but I was emotionally spent. My best score to that point had been 79. The only shot I can remember from that day was holing a bunker shot on the par 3 #15 for a bird. Other than that I dont even remember being on the course.
