Has anyone hit the R11 irons vs the Nike VR Pro Cavity?

Can't find too many people that even play my irons, which are the VR Cavitys. Was thinking about going with a set of R11's, simply because my woods are now Taylormade(I really like a matching bag) and I have enough chits in the pro shop to get myself R11's for nothing. The difference I have seen by swapping out my VR Pro woods to Taylormade is undeniable. And I hate Taylormade. But I don't want to lose forgiveness, I've hit the demo 6 iron multiple times, can' get 100% feel on how it will be throughout the set. Can't find anyone that owns a set to try some. What are your thoughts? Are my current clubs easier to hit? Seems like my distances are pretty reliable with the Nike irons, nothing too harsh on the mishits while not feeling like I'm swinging shovels. R11's almost felt the same way...but I'm only hitting one club. Soles on the R11's are slightly thinner, a little nicer to look down at with a thinner topline. I know someone will say get fitted, but I hate hitting into the simulator with thos soft balls where every shot feels pure, wasting some guys time on clubs I definitely won't be buying from them. Just looking for some general feedback.

Haven't tried the Nikes but I have the R11s. If you like the 6i you will love the shorter irons. Pure shots are very soft. Feel the ball explode off te face. I ordered 6i-SW, but replaced the SW with an ATV. Although the R11 felt better, the spin and sole of the ATV win out. I just picked up the 4i and 5i from the R11 set tonight. With the 21* and 24* lift they are more like a 3i and 4i of a traditional set. Put it this way, all the talk of the longer irons being hard to hit has me a little nervous. And the 4 and 5 I seemed a little larger than the 6 but still had that thin sole. My first shots with the 5i, I was 5 for 5 with perfect strikes. The ball just flew! Long and straight, perfectly gapped off if the 6i. The 4i I was 3 of 5 with but even the mishits there were long. They are a nice set of irons.
FWIW, I've tried them against TM TP MB/MC and the feel was close, the TP were slightly better. No difference between the TM CB and R11. Tons better than Burner 2.0. The Adams A4 felt like toys compared to these. And the real disappointment was the Japanese brand than begins with an M and has an has an
Italian sounding name. The R11 to me felt better than the MP59, and my shots were better.

I can hit these straight or work them easily, and you do feel and see mis hits easily, although unlike the blade types, you are still left with a salvageable shot

Both irons would be just as forgiving as eachother. However if you like the R11's and want a matching set then go for it.
Their are plenty of people here ( including myself) who condone club hoing .

The only time you will really feel a difference in forgiveness is if you go with a half muscle half cavity back type iron. Other then
that most GI irons feel the same and forgive the same.

Thanks for the replies, the input is much appreciated. I went to the range today to get a little better feeling for them, and found like someone above stated that they are almost identical. I'm a 12 by the way so I fall into the category that fits both sets perfectly. I may have squeezed a little more distance out of the R11, 6 iron flying about 190 vs the Nike at 185. Not a concern really. The shot dispersion/accuracy felt identical. The Nike may be the slightest bit harsher on a mishit, but flush shots feel 100% smoother. The R11 is a little more clicky, while mishits got me maybe 5-10 more yards on a bad swing. The R11 has that trampoline face feeling while the Nike just feels something softer than a blade. Even having different shafts, the ball flight was the same. Started nice and low, finishing really high and just dropping soft. If I couldn't get the R11's for virtually nothing this decision would be simple. For someone interested in the R11's, I would strongly take a look at the Nike's. For $800 vs $300, or used $500 vs $250, the Nikes are a bargain for what I feel is almost the same club. Hopefully this helps someone down the road when they're searching, although my take is just comparing 6 irons.

Wow... those are really close. I have the R11s love them, but never realized how similar they are. Only thing I hate about the r11s is the stupid channel that runs sown the sole of the club and drives me nuts trying to keep the clubs clean.

My only complaint as well. It serves no purpose, and is just the perfect width and depth to make it almost impossible to clean
