No-offset straight shaft putter that's not center shaft

So, after A TON of trial and error and a few trips to the local golf store, I've come to the realization that I putt best with a putter with no offset. I tried the new Newport 2.6 and Golo S among others on monday and found the look very pleasing. The problem is that I need something that's more heel shafted than those. Besides the one Seemore putter (m2) and going custom, is there anything out there that has a straight shaft but attaches more heelward? I also don't like the Seemore because it has negative offset and I'm looking for true onset.

Here is the Seemore:

From what I saw, the edge of the shaft was even with the 2.6's face where the Seemore's shaft is set back from the face a little - looks to be about 1/8". The difference is noticeable to me because I aim right of target with the Seemore but pretty close to right on with the 2.6.

ah, ok.

i think the seemore has a smaller shaft entry into the head because it's a blind bore, whereas the scotty is a post over hosel and, therefore, has a fatter tip that spans the entire top line. the actual face progression is about the same as measured from the center of the shaft, though. so the actual face progression (negative offset) is not materially different as measured from the center of the shaft, but it does look like the seemore has more progression as measured from the edge of hte shaft.

I see what you mean. I'm not as familiar with face progression but it doesn't sound like the difference in the shaft size between the two putters is enough to be of much impact to what I'm looking for. If one was something like .410 and the other was .335 (not like that would normally happen), I could see it playing a greater role.

Can't think of any outside of getting one custom built. Only off the rack straight shafted model that's not a See More coming to mind is the old Cameron Red X2. It's advertised as being just off center, but I would imagine it's probably still closer to center than you're looking for...
[/quote]

Yeah, cameron hasn't made one OTR yet that has a straight shaft but not center or close to center shafted. I remember the X2. It had a similar negative offset to the Seemore, IIRC. I used to play a center shaft putter where the shaft was canted forward a few degrees to put the hands in front of the face at address but I could never get comfortable with it. I really like to have the shaft vertical and not see the face in front of the shaft.

i dont know what a flare tip diameter is but i think .400 is actually pretty close. camerons shaft over post tips are probably in that neighborhood. i'm not sure what seemore is using but it's probably .355 at the largest, since they're boring into the head. granted, 50/1000ths isn't a lot, it's all about what it does psychologically.

if you're looking for something custom, though, i'd say use sunset beach. they can build any of their putters with any hosel in any configuration you want with any face progression or offset you want, so if you're looking to spend $300 on a putter, they're a great option (plus you get all the other value of a custom-made putter)

I thought the 2.6 had a straight shaft (no flare)? From the pictures, it looks like they just made the spud small enough for a .370 but I don't know.

I've always admired the Sunset Beach putters. Very clean lines. I'll have to take a closer look and see if the designs they have available fit what I'm looking for. I'd rather not go to a totally custom piece including new design.

that may end up being the best option for you. the cost is nearly the same as an OTR milled putter. you're not paying for the additional design work and shaping or grinding. and their heads are milled without a neck, so lamont actually welds all the necks on (for the ones with necks) anyway, so welding a spud and going shaft over hosel wouldn't be any issue for him.

If you don't need to have a new putter or even recent history, Spalding TP Mills Roman numeral 2. Find one that is carbon steel. With the CS, pencil shaft and head design it is one sweet putter.......

Find a Cameron Bullseye, I personally play the flanged model without the offset, there weren't a ton of them on the market but I have seen them on ebay fairly cheap.
