Ping Anser v Callaway Razr Fit TA

Anybody hit both these clubs head to head which do you prefer?

 

Anybody gaming either club?

 

I've been a long time Callaway man from FT3 Tour - FT Tour and pretty much all the others along the way. I like the Composite heads and prefer the duller sound. This season I started with a Ping i20 and liked it a lot. It looks great behind the ball forgivness is great but not a hook machine. I only sold it as the PX black shaft felt a little soft. The new Anser looks very similar from what I've seen and the fact the shaft can be changed very easily appeals to me. Also the Ahina shaft is a great stock option. The Razr fit would have to have an upgraded shaft, Thinking a Fubuki Tour as I like the feel and kick of that shaft.

I have hit the Ta, but hated the Px Black....currently have the Razr Fit with Ust Vts and luv it...Anser is lower spin than I20...launches a tad higher....more forgiving than I20 as well...both the Ahina and the Tfc 800 are very good with the Anser head...but I as well really like the sound and performance of the Callaway.

Plus we have experienced quite a few broken Px Black demo shafts broken in both the Ping and Callaway fitting carts...Fyi

I agree with the higher launch, but I definitely don't see lower spin with the Anser. I hit the Anser yesterday with the Ahina in an x. launch was about a degree higher than the i20 in the same loft with the TFC707 stiff shaft and spin was about 500 rpm lower for me. I think they're probably pretty close, just different numbers for different players. Anser was definitely more forgiving.

Shaft will play a role.

I hated i20 and spun it above 3k, Anser 8.5 with stock ping was good. Ahina great numbers and very very fogiving.

A mishit outdoes some old gamers caught flush. In the bag she goes when it arrives.

Sound is louder and more titanium than i20, you may not be a fan. I'm on the side who hates the dull thwackers. I prefer the lively metal Ping.

[/quote]According to Ping R & D, the Anser is lower spin than the I20...I've found that to be the case as well..but it certainly is not a night and day difference...that being said, the Ahina is far superior to the Px black..and I think the Tfc 800 is better as well.

I have a Razr Fit I also have 2 shafts that i play in it depending on the wind I have a Ilima 70 and a DI6 I play the DI6 on windy days ball flight is lower.
I also have a I-20 with stock 707 shaft in it.
I have heard the new Anser is a little bigger than the I-20 and more forgiving I fing my Fit and my I-20 are about equal on forgivness.
I am looking forward to trying the new Anser soon.
