Ok I see what you guys bring to stay alive on the course. But what happen if the ball ran out? Do you go back to the club house and buy some sleeves. Ask your golf partners nicely for extra balls?

You should bring enough balls to avoid running out. How many depends on the person, their tendencies to lose balls, and the course they play.

If I'm playing so poorly that I've lost every ball I brought, I might be inclined to just bag the round. Otherwise, I might hope to find a couple while looking for my own. Last choice would be to humbly ask a fellow competitor for a spare.

BTW it happened once when I ran out of balls. I only brought 6 balls, all from different brands. Suddenly there is a golf cart selling used Titleist balls on the next hole. Ever run into kinda golf cart?

On a more serious note, I usually have 10 or so brand new PROV1Xs in the bag and a couple used ones from previous rounds. If my ball count goes below 5, I buy another dozen before my next round.

I keep a 8 standard balls and 8 X balls. Depends on the course. If it's long then I game X's. Shorter then I go standard for feel.

Surprised you guys carry so many. I carry about six (6) balls max in my bag. I've been playing the same ball the last 2 rounds. I'm not very good, but I keep things in the fairway for the most part.

Probably about 15 to 18 balls in a pocket in my bag. MOstly Hex Chrome and a few used HEx Tour IX from LGB.

Then there's about a half dozen 'ugly balls' down in the lower section of the bag for water holes, really narrow holes and really bad days.

My father and i lost a combined roughly 40balls yesterday morning.

Every drive he lost a ball.. except two holes. Each hole his irons lost a ball.. sometimes twice a hole.

Me.. i just lost about 7 simply from the slice off the tee. Rest of my game was fine. Random lost ball here or there.. cause of poor searching in rough near fairway. Im horrible at tracking my ball in flight.

I usually have three out of the sleeve and marked before I tee off. I always have an extra three (new in the sleeve) in my bag.

If I pickup a few balls here and there, I throw them into my bag - every couple of weeks I empty those out and stuff them in the shag bag. Mostly I pick them up so the mowers won't hit them.

I always keep at least a dozen in my bag. Usually the same brand, but sometimes a mix of prov1x's, penta 5s and some pinnacles that I find and keep for if I get wild off the tee.

No need to lose $45 worth of balls if I get yippy off the tee.

I had like 35 balls in my bag a few weeks ago since I'm too lazy to take out old ones, that made my bag quite a bit lighter. Caddies were thankful.

Usually around a dozen walking, just to mess about with I don't have brand loyalty. But since I joined a new club where very few people walk I have cut it down to 3.. however I leave with about 30 virtually brand new premium balls each time I walk 18! What a deal

It's funny you say that.. sometimes when I find a few balls on a hole[and they're stinkers], and there are people behind me teeing off [while im on the green]. I'll put a few balls in the cup.

Home course 2 - 4 balls. I carry and I try to keep it light and I rarely lose a ball (it might go OB or in a Hazard but not lost). At my home course I always know where to look for my ball or where I can find a ball or two if I really needed them. If I lose a ball on the front I grab 1 or 2 more out of my locker for the back.

At an away course I carry 6-8balls with me.

I am not that great (9cap) but I don't seem to lose many balls.

If I didn't carry my bag I am sure I would have a bunch of balls in there.

When in Scotland golfing I recall the caddie making fun of how many ball the 'Americans' (I am not one) carry in there bag - "What the hell do you need a bloody dozen balls for?" too funny.

I always carry 9 new balls. currently using ad333. anything i pick up along the way will go in the shag bag at the end of the round. I haven't lost a ball for 27 holes now but i can guarantee that wont last much longer!
