How much would the cost be for us mortals for a trip to the kingdom? And are tour issue heads available during the fitting?
I believe the fitting cost is $2500 for a full bag. Tour heads are available but TM will only fit you with what works. Don't go there expecting a full bag of tour issued clubs though.
If I spent $2500, I'd BETTER have a full bag of tour issued clubs fit to me. I don't care if they were RBZ irons, they'd better be the RBZ irons straight off the Senior Tour! Lol

Why is that? If you go and buy a full bag of clubs from a retail store your will probably spend $2500 or more. The kingdom believes that a perfect fitting is a result of clubs that work best for your needs which may not result in a full bag of "tour issued" clubs. When I went there were some people who were fitted into DOT heads and some were fitted into regular retail heads. It's just the Ho in us all that wants the "bling" factor of tour issued clubs...

I personally like the sound, size, and shape of the TM tour drivers. Also had a regular R11 and could never get the right spin numbers. Tried a dozen shafts head just spun way to much for me.

I think that many times, if we would care less about whether it was tour issued or not, and get what works than we might be surprised at the performance. As far as I know they don't make a mystical tour titanium or steel alloy.

Accurate lofts and open face angles are worth something. Had a retail R11 that said 9 degrees but it might have been 12 degrees?

I would figure that even the retail heads that you would get there are measured on actual loft, lie, etc.

I would think this as well. Here's my question...are the new clubs included in the $2500 or do you have to pay then for the clubs on top of that? Because I don't think many people on here would have a problem paying $2500 for a new set of custom fit clubs done by some of the best professionals in the game.

Now, $2500 for a fitting seems a bit steep to me, which would result in probably $5000 for the set once all was said and done.

The fitting includes clubs too. But when you add travel expenses and everything else it may start to get a little pricey.

2500 seems pretty fair to be fitted by the OEM, whether it's Taylormade, Ping, Titleist etc....

Rough numbers:

Driver - 400
FW's/Hybrids - 300-600 depending on how many
Irons - 800-1000
Wedges - 250
Putter 150-300

Thats' 1,900-2,550, using very basic estimates. Now factor in shaft upgrades, customization and the actual fitting experience. It's about right.

Taylormade SIM Max  – 10.5°
Taylormade M4  – 16.5°
Titleist 818H1 - 22.5°
Titleist AP1 718 – 4-P
Titleist AP1 718 – 48°
Cleveland CBX – 54°
Taylormade EF – 60°
Ping Vault 2.0 Craz-E H

Yes. But these are full retail prices. With the amount of discount on-line retailers, one should never have to pay full price. But that's just me.

I can't imagine spending upwards of $3K and not getting all tour issue stuff, whatever the equipment... Whether it was headed for the PGA Tour, Senior PGA or eve LPGA. Lol

In fact, I would suffice it to say that none of it is "retail" as you'd exactly know what you're getting. Spec's out to the max!! Retail is going to a Golf Galaxy or PGA Superstore and buying it OTR. A 9* stamped head literally could be anything. One really doesn't know what exactly you're starting off with. Where I'm willing to bet that during a Kingdom fitting, that std 9* head is in fact 9*. Not 10.3* or whatever the case may be.

Please tell us where you would go to get a full bag of "tour issued" TM clubs for 3k or under including top tier shafts of your liking?

Okay, so define "tour issue" then?? Because I was of the understanding that "tour issue" meant that you knew exactly what you were getting. I've seen numerous "tour issue" TM stuff that basically just has the exact info on a label on the head. It didn't have a different grade of Titanium or Steel, it didn't have some special magic pixy dust that was used with the epoxy. It was just that you knew exactly what you were getting. I've had several heads (not only TM) which had a stamped loft of 9.5* only to be measured at 11-12*. The one "tour issue" head I had that had a stamped loft of 9* and the actual loft was 9* was a HUGE difference because the loft was correct and at 9*.

That's all I'm saying. Sure, the R11 DOT heads and the R11V2 and R11 V3 heads are "tour issue", but I'm willing the bet the actual "cost" to make this heads isn't astronomical to make, only it's $$$$ to those for what they are willing to pay. It'd be interesting to see what the actual "mfg cost" is.

And same goes with irons. It's more that you would be certain that the loft is correct, that the lies are correct. That all if the specs are correct, and that they are tailored ones swing and abilities. That's what I'm trying to say.

All of the clubs you get fitted for at the Kingdom are "spot on" when it comes to specs. Drivers, fwys, hybrids, irons, wedges and even putters. However, many of them may not be stamped with a "tour issued" serial number that all of us like here on the Wrx. I love "tour issued" clubs like everyone else does but if I was to go out there and buy all brand new "tour issued" sticks with my shafts of choice it would probably be more than doubled or tripled what TM charges for a full club fitting. IMO $2500 for a kingdom experience is a great deal. I was there back in 2011 and the info I learned in one day was unbelievable. I wish every member here could experience that place at least once.

Yes! That's what I'm talking about. Sure, there are some speciality stuff like the R11S V2 and V3, R11 DOT stuff and etc, etc (it'd be nice to see THOSE released under the TP brand in limited release like the SuperDeep), but knowing that the 9* TP with a Motore Speeder Tour Spec 6.3 stiff is indeed a 9* head with a true stiff shaft is worth it's price in gold!

Agreed! I'd love TM to release the clubs you mentioned as a TP model. It's kind of sad to see them go away with that line.

So any ideas when that putter can be in my bag?

I went to the kingdom at Reynolds plantation a few months ago and it was in my opinion a huge waste of money. First of all to just get fit it's $500 or $250 if you purchase 11 clubs. Accommodations are great but very pricey, it is the ritz after all. Anyway, the reason I feel it's a waste of money is because it's a glorified trackman fitting, which I can get for $100 locally and not be limited to just taylorMade clubs. If you do go don't tell them you like to go on golfwrx, my fitter actually called me a "bombsquader" during the whole fitting. Which made the experience even worse. To add more fuel to the fire he actually told me the head I should be using is the 8* tour only RBz tour head but its only for top amateurs or pros. Now, was the fitting wrong, no, the guy knew his stuff.

I like GolfWRX, I'm on almost everyday. The reason I went to the kingdom was because of what I read here in this forum. The gentleman who fitted me said that he wished that golfwrx and taylorMade never did there promotional fittings because it would give people the wrong impression of what they can get. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you win a contest and go great, but if you are just a normal joe, your money is better spent somewhere else.

I'm sure, but I hope others understand I'm not trying to put any site down.
