Hybrid Distance Gap Advice Needed - 3 or 4 hybrid?

Hi Guys,

 

I would like to hear your advice for my distance gap issue with my hybrids. The distances listed are carry distances. I use a gap wedge so I can't keep both the 3 and 4 hybrids in the bag.

 

Which set up is best between the 2 below?

3 hybrid to go after the long par 3's

also, you can take some off a 3 hybrid and swing comfortably. It would not be as easy to swing harder with a 4 hybrid

3h is perfect fit. Almost even gap. 4h you have to much gap to your 3w. In between yards just take some off from the longer club.

I'd also go with the 3hybrid (that's what I do actually, 3W > 3H > 4i). I also carry 4 wedges. I think having a more even gap between the clubs is better. So, as far as your situation goes, I'd rather have the 25+30 rather than the 15+40.

Of those 2 scenarios I would go with the 4 hybrid. I feel the distance gap between your 4 iron and hybrid needs to be closer than the gap between your wood and hybrid. This is probably because I like to think of my hybrid as a 3 iron replacement (even though it goes a little farther than a 3 iron would).

Even in traditional sets, there was always a distance gap between your woods and irons. Think of your hybrid as an iron.

I recently went through this scenario and I chose a 21 degree hybrid over a 19 degree. I also went to a 4 wood instead of a 3 wood, but that was for other reasons also

It is easy! No 3 wood.....

I have a 2, 3, and 4 hybrid in the bag with no 3 wood or 4 iron. The 4 hybrid gives me higher launch than I hit the 4 iron and is easier to hit. The 2 hybrid is nearly the same length as the 3 wood and is much more controllable if I am going for a par 5 in 2....plus it is straight money off the tee. I find I hit the hybrids more on the longer courses than I would hit the extra wedge.

3H for sure. Better and more even distance gaps. Almost sounds like my setup, which is 4W, 3H, 4I.

Its more important to have your lower lofted clubs closer together. Higher lofted clubs are easier to control a distance so your able to space them out a bit. Just my 2 cents

Are those carry distances or is that including roll out?
