Taylormade 3-woods

Hey guys,

I am trying to decide on a new 3-wood. I have a Titleist PT and it is a great club but it is not too forgiving and it is tough to hit off the deck.

I am interested in Taylormade but I don't know which model. V-Steel, r7, 200 Steel?

What do you guys think is the best one

It depends on the ball flight that you like. I've used them all -- 200, V-Steel and r7. 200 Series is sure a high ball hitter, while r7 and V-Steel are low-spin & low-launch heads. r7 is in my bag now.

My back up fairways are the old 300 tour titanium these were real doggies at reatil but I still love them

I'd go with the V-steel. You can geta steel shafted one for $99 or less now. That's $299 less than the R7, which is $399 and a lot of money for a club you might hit 2 - 3 times in a round, if at all.

I paid $230 shipped for my r7 FW with the shaft that I like. It's not necessary that expensive.

Definitely the value choice is the V-steel, although the old school 200 series are some serious clubs as well. I'd definitely grab a v-steel off of ebay (can be had for 50 or so bucks) and put whatever shaft you desire in it for less than an r7 fw. I doubt anyone would claim the performance difference warrants paying the higher price for the r7 fw.

man i'm still using the TM tour preffered Burner Spoon from 1990. tried many many 3 woods, but i keep going back to that one.

I play a 300 tour 13*, its a solid club. Perfect if you hit a high ball and want to lower your flight. But if not i would definatly go with the V-steel, its a great club.
