haha they have a V2 which is what the "Tour" players are using. but no there isnt a R1 and R1 Tour like RBZ and RBZ Tour. would be nice though

Hit both the R1 and RBZ 2 tonight. Can't compar distance to my R11 as I didn't have it with me to compare, but I will say this, the R1 sounds and feels a ton better. The RBZ2 have me a about 5mph club head speed, and a few yards, but they were all over the place. The R1 was very consistent for me and I found just about every shot straight down the middle. Once the weather breaks and I can get back into hitting more often I will be getting fitted for an r1. I'd rather be 10 yards shorter and on target than 10 yards deeper in the rough

I hit it today for quite some time. I hate the Taylormade longer shafts. It feels good when you strike it and has a great sound. The graphics are so lame. I appreciate my 913D3 much more after swinging the R1.

Quick Update********* butt trimmed my R1 .75" and changed 10g wgt to 6g....then added for overall weight purposes lead tape to the shaft in strategic spots. Perfection!

Teed ball down and strikes lower on face; more center, more predictable.....

i have a 66g shaft in mine now but need a 70g-75g shaft and it will be perfect, missing left.

I haven't, I'm a C-taper guy and i love love love the c-tapers in the tours. just put them in 2 days ago and the difference is just amazing. flat piercing trajectory, lets me just swing. PXi 6.0 is about 8g lighter then the C-taper stiff I'm playing.

I had the R1 when it first came out and it was "ok" then I got the R1 V2 and it has been in my bag since. Beat out everything so far including the SLDR...it's not going anywhere for awhile.

Up until yesterday, I was using the R1 Black with stock Phenom stiff flex for about the last 7-8 months. It replaced the Nike Covert (non tour). The R1 was consistently 10 yds further carry with just a bit tighter dispersion. My best launch numbers have been with it set at 12 degrees loft, compass at 3 open (neutral face angle at 12 deg), with the heavier weight in the heal. It has been the longest and most accurate driver of all the drivers I have had over the last 10 years.

I read all the positive posts about the Cobra Bio Cell over the last couple of weeks and decided to test the Bio Cell and plus at Golfsmith against my R1. I swapped the stock Matrix Red Tie and the stock PxV between the two heads to compare results. For me, the regular bio cell driver with the Matrix Red Tie had the overall highest consistency and most optimal launch numbers.The bio cell + with Matrix Red Tie was the absolute longest, but launch was just too low for me to feel comfortable. The bio cell with Matrix Red Tie beat my R1 pretty consistently launch monitor wise.

I ended up ordering the red BIO Cell with the Matrix Red Tie stiff flex from Global Golf (no upcharge for the shaft). I have used it on the course the last two days and it has officially replaced my R1. I have it set at 11.5 degrees. My longest drives are about the same as the R1, but my average drive is at least 8-10 yds further overall. A lot of this I am sure is due to the longer length (45.75 vs 44.75). The surprising thing is that even at the longer length, I am making much more consistent center contact. The ball just wants to go straight or draw slightly. My R1 was accurate, but the Bio Cell is better. I occasionaly would get a snap hook with the R1, but so far no fear of that with the Bio Cell.

The R1 adapters have lofts printed on them. It looks like you have a Stage 2 adapter. Fitting a Stage 2 adapter into an R1 works. But figuring out the loft gets a little cloudy.

Not necessarily the case. When a Stage 2 adapter is placed into a Stage 2 or SLDR driver head, then it goes 1.5 degrees up or down at the maximum settings. A Stage2 adapter going into an R1 driver head would be off a bit since an R1 goes 2 degrees up and down max. My guess is that your combo would be around 1.75 up or down at the maximum settings.
