Well looking at that pic of that alternative version above... It is clear that Sergio isn't playing those...

Sergio's from this week...

And here is that new version posted above.. (Top head is the alt head)

Yep. First thing I noticed was the heel on the cavity. Sergio's have the same cavity as the normal set. I'm wondering if the B set also has the same speed pocket as the normal Tour's. I told a buddy that the heads are about as similar as the old Titleist 962 to 962B.....coincidentally the smaller version there was denoted with "B" and had a heel cavity similar to the RBZ Tour B.

A buddy told me the other day these existed and I said "I think you mean the RBZ not the Rocketbladez." He said no its the Rocketbladez but there is only around 10 sets in existence right now... Guess I am eating my words now, haha. These do look pretty sweet.

Do you think that you will get a hold of any sets?

A local retailer finally got a set of the Rocketbladz Tour irons for sale 4-P/W. Given a look over of them and the B head photo, it would appear the soles will be narrower on the B's and blade length may be a bit shorter maybe a tad longer the MB heads and shorter than the MC's. I had the r9 B's and they were actually a longer blade.

In person the Retail version is good, not great (like some of the Japan CB's TP has had in the past decade), but quite easy on the eye. I'm not sure how long that 4 iron is going to play in the real world but would probably find a hybrid to match in between it and the 3 wood in my bag if I were so inclined to pay the retail set. I could see the B/C's having more traditional lofts as well for tour players who would want the 3 iron and have historically just played a gap and lofted wedge vs. a 4 wedge set. Playability is why tour players play a set of irons, so that's why these sets are coming. I got a set of the constant offset Tour MC's last year and they will be in my bag for a while. Pretty exciting actually that TM is going the extra mile with B/C versions of Rocketbladz, I'd give it mid April and they should be "available".

i'm a non TM guy, however the rocketbladz, i'm interested in. I'm not familiar with the TM ecosystem. So if I understand this, the "B" version could be available to retail soon?
I sure hope they get released but right now nobody really knows. I'm sure Will People's will be able to land some down the road but they will be pricey$$$$.

Pricey?! Yes that's a bit of an understatement, if Will is fortunate enough to land a few sets of heads they will be über expense. Does anybody recall the timeframe of the quasi-retail release of the R9 B's?? I wanna say it was a least 1yr after the R9 TP model run so if this hold true do not expect the B's (or F's in this case I think) to see the light of day anytime soon...BB

Also Like BB said earlier, Seeing this has caused me to hold off on buying the tour set. It will be my quest to try and find a B set at a reasonable price

Yes, might be later honestly if ever! I finally had a chance to see the retail Tours today, far to chunky for my personal taste. For purely selfish reasons I would love to see the F's packaged with a TP logo and offered custom order, I see zero reason why a huge money machine like Taylormade couldn't make this happen...BB

I've hit the tours and they are fine. Of course I want what I can't have.

The issue I bet we will have here is the Tmag engineers dialed the tours up to perform precisely as they wanted. The version "x" will be a small % of the performance I would get using the retail tours.

After that discounted performance over the retials, and still not getting a forged head. Hummm... I still want them... Ho

You and I both. But I think TM has killed off the TP logo for good unfortunately.

 • 3 months later...

What is the basic difference between the Rocketbladz Tour F series and N series? Since both are shorter overall blade length, is it just the N series have less offset and the F series have the same offset as the retail set? I am assuming the retail, F, and N are all made using the same metal (431, 8620 or something else)..

F heads have TI1 (Tour Iron 1, just like the drivers are TD, woods are TF, hybrids TR) on the hosel. The F's have a longer hosel and faces don't have mill marks (none of the newest produced heads have milled faces) I believe the N's have TI2 on the hosel and are the same size as the F heads just slightly less offset (haven't heard of any different metal). Have yet to actually see any "N" heads....if they are indeed different metal you most likely won't see any resold sets because of the cost....most likely made exclusively for Goosen and maybe a handful of top staffers.

Thanks for the info. I saw a set in a pros bag and that appeared to be the only difference. Yes they did have TI2 on the hosel along with a ton of other numbers. Everything else looked the same finish, cavity, etc. Probably would be silly to use different material as the design is basically the same and probably wouldn't benefit from a change.

Another pro had a set of the F TI1 and you can not tell them apart size wise or finish or cavity wise. The offset is the most noticeable. Neither said anything about the feel of one versus the other so I don't know about that as might be related to different materials..
Feel is about the same, I didn't notice a difference in offset from the F's to the Standard Tour. Feel may be different if the sets were tested against the earlier version RBZ Tour's because those faces were milled. The newest sets Tour and Retail aren't milled. Retail are denoted with a diamond on the hosel if the faces aren't milled to help sorting. Here is my pic comparison thread of the sets I have....

I don't believe there is any difference in retail and F as far as offset. This set of Ns had less offset than the F (not huge but noticeable when set down together) and all had what I thought were little arrows on the hosel up by the ferrule. I guess they could be triangles...
