Mizuno or Titleist

After years with my vokey raws it is time to retire them and get some new wedges. I am a 2 hcp and carry a 52 and 58, play Mp 60 3-pw. I like the 8 deg of bounce on the 58 because I can open it up as much as I want, I am concerned about getting any higher bounce. The MP T series is what I am considering for Mizuno and a Oil Can 52 and a 58 oil can spin milled from Titleist. I would appreciate any feedback you guys can give me. Thanks for all your help.

I have Mizuno also, and carry almost the same wedge setup (53 & 58).

I have both the Titleist Vokeys and the Mizuno T series black nickel.

I'm currently am playing the Mizuno's because of the consistency of feel with my irons (MP-32's and MP-67's). Of course, I always reserve the right to go back to the Vokey's when the urge presents itself.

I'd recommend giving the Mizuno's a shot.

Thanks Texcrom, the only thing really holding me back is the fact that the 58 only comes in a 10 deg bounce. Did you notice any loss of distance with the mizunos?

i have the same problem but its for the entire bag(as you can tell by my signature). i just cant decide between the two............... vs. :crazy: ;)

Couldnt go wrong with either wedge. The vokey sms are awesome. It does sound like the mizuno wedges would fit into your iron setup better, but im sure you wouldnt have any problem fitting the titleists either. And as far as distance loss with mizuno, i dont know if that is what you look at when looking for with a sand/lob wedge.

Both wedges are great.

Vokey's are cast, Mizuno's are forged.

You might want to wait and see how the new Vokey's will perform - they are called Spin Milled TVD and comes in 3-4 grind options depending on your shot steepness and how you like to play your wedges.

The new Mp-R from Mizuno already have a pretty good grind built in - I would say the Mp-R wedges are the best retail wedges on the market rigth now - Sonartec T35 a close second.

I love the Black Nickel finish on the Mizuno wedges - best wedge finish in my view.

I also have a trio of Vokey Spin Milled - and will also buy the Vokey TVD's - so its' a tough choice.

Mizuno MP-R :crazy:

Mizuno rep at GG had some. Very nice! Milled grooves and good grind.

I seldom hit full wedge shots, so can't say that I noticed any distance loss.

I did notice that my Vokeys are slightly heavier than my Mizuno's. I am traveling so don't have the exact difference. Also, Vokeys seem to play better out of the sand, while Mizuno's are better for soft touch shots around the green. Just my opinion, others may disagree.

I understand that distance should not be a huge factor when selecting a wedge. After four years of knowing exactly how far my weges will go, giving or taking 5 yards would take an adjustment. Since I am more of a "digger" than a slider, the new grinds don't mean much to me since the turf I play off typically is not that tight in the midwest, and I have found the M grind digs a little too much for my liking. Thanks for all your input so far guys, look forward to reading more suggestions.

I would go with the Mizuno's for two reasons:1) For me they perform better than the Volkey's but than I've never found a Volkey that I liked. 2) Since you have Mizuno irons you will keep the same feel through out your set.

I play the Mizuno 5810 and use it for all shots around the green, it's a great wedge and that's the best part of my game.
